I think Boyle could lose to Danville and still win 3A (happened last season).

I also think Danville could be put on a running clock and still compete in 2A.

It's a long season and a lot of things can happen.

Danville was way way better last season. Had more weapons on offense and still only put up 10 points against Boyle County. Danville will need more than 10 points this year to defeat Boyle County. Point being, last year’s results are irrelevant.

Yes, Danville can lose this game and still win 2A. I still am not sold that if Boyle County struggles that they will be able to defeat the likes of Corbin, Belfry, Central to win 3A. This game will make Danville better.

And again, I fully expect Boyle County to win big on a Friday night. Even if I was in town I probably still wouldn’t go to the game. It shouldn’t be close at all.

Lol I love this rivalry.

So Wireman what’s your prediction? You don’t have to be specific just give us a ballpark figure.

Boyle- 41 Danville-10... There have been blowouts in this series before. Boyle has too many weapons this year.

Boyle gets the win, Danville competes and doesn't let it get out of hand.

Just your gut saying that or do you have reasoning for this feeling?

I've watched both teams play. Danville certainly isn't on last season's level, but they are better than they were for a couple of years prior to Clevenger's era. They have a winning mentality and won't give up. They lack playmakers compared to the last few seasons but they aren't bad. I think the Corbin game showed them a lot of what they need to work on and where they need to get to compete at a higher level.

Boyle is obviously very good. There's no reason why they shouldn't get the win, as long as they don't make mistakes (aka turnovers). Reese Smith will be the best all-around player on the field.

I'm hoping for a great atmosphere and that the weather isn't nasty. I'm heading to Chicago this weekend and decided to wait until after the game to leave, so I'm hoping for a fun night.

Love the matchups:

- Lanter vs. Thornton

- Bartleson vs. Bartleson

- Danville's big boys vs. Boyle's big boys

- The senior kicking star vs. the freshman kicking star

So many fun storylines locally.

Danville's QB had a tendency last week to lock on to receivers and to also float the ball a little in the middle of the field. If he does this against Boyle, as aggressive as their defense is, it will spell trouble for the Ads and possibly result in a pick 6 or two. Corbin didn't really take advantage of this, but after seeing the tape, I expect Boyle Co. will if it happens again this week.

Boyle has too many weapons and will roll all over Danville this year.

Safe travels, brother!

I’m going to come down for this one although I think Boyle will win comfortably. I’m going 49-14. Danville will have a hard time stopping Boyle’s leading receiver Smith, also Colwick and Bartleson have played great on offense and Lanter throwing the ball. For Danville to have any success on Offense it will start in blocking Boyle’s leading tackler Kelly upfront and establish the Run. If Danville can’t run the ball some they will struggle to score. I called someone at County today to ask him about his thoughts on the game and was told that Hatter was more than likely out which hurts Boyles defense and he also said Smith won’t play Crawford, he likes Sacco in the backfield with Bartleson. One thing back when I coached I always heard about Smith if he thinks someone is better he will replace you and it doesn’t matter if your a senior. I’m looking forward to the atmosphere. I hope I’m wrong and it’s a good game.
