It’s a long shot and a lot of pending factors and I’m not saying they can beat anyone but possibly be competitive with the Big Boys is Ballard. Talented with size but a long shot!

District 7 also has Fredrick Douglass in it as well.

So last place in D7 doesn't make the playoffs? Or does someone get a bye?

Doesn't make the playoffs.

Any Lexington school has to go through Scott Co. to be able to be seen as a dark horse IMO.

McKee isn't gonna show his full hand during the season. Lafayette had their number for a few years, but I'm not sure that anyone in Lexington 6A will be able to do it this season.

SC is definitely the favorite from their bracket for the semi's, possibly the finals. Any " darkhorse " has a mountain to climb.

My 6A darkhorse is the Boone County Rebels. Making the state semifinals would be a Cinderella story obviously. Their solid run will be knocking out some of the n.ky 6A favorites. They have an extraordinary combination of talented upperclassmen and a group of hungry, skilled sophomores. I'm sure because of their well lopsided record over the past six years is understandably why they aren't mentioned in any rankings or discussions. They are flying well below the radar despite winning every team event at the Ryle lineman challenge. I predict the Rebels have more wins this season than the last six seasons combined. Go Rebels.

Hope you are right. Boone Co. has a proud tradition. Would like to see them back in the mix.
