Who is your 6A Darkhorse?

What part of that would someone dislike? Probably a Ryle fan.

After last week's results X moves down a little for me and I have to go with Male and/or Scott County.

My 6A darkhorse is the Boone County Rebels. Making the state semifinals would be a Cinderella story obviously. Their solid run will be knocking out some of the n.ky 6A favorites. They have an extraordinary combination of talented upperclassmen and a group of hungry, skilled sophomores. I'm sure because of their well lopsided record over the past six years is understandably why they aren't mentioned in any rankings or discussions. They are flying well below the radar despite winning every team event at the Ryle lineman challenge. I predict the Rebels have more wins this season than the last six seasons combined. Go Rebels.

I like the way you are thinking. Also, it's good to have another Rebel fan post on BGP. I've been the only one carry the torch for the Rebels for a few years now.

I am with you on the first part of your statement. I don't know why anyone would hit the thumbs down on this. They may disagree with you regarding Boone County's chances of surprising some people but there was nothing objectionable in what you said.

Other notes are 5th place team in district 1 becomes 4th place team in district 2. 5th place team in district 3 becomes 4th place in district 5. 5th place team becomes 4th place in district 6.

Class 6A

District 1 – Daviess County, Henderson County, McCracken County, Muhlenberg County, Ohio County

District 2 – Central Hardin, Meade County, North Hardin

District 3 – Butler, DuPont Manual, Male, Pleasure Ridge Park, St. Xavier

District 4 – Ballard, Eastern, Jeffersontown, Seneca, Trinity (Louisville)

District 5 – Conner, Cooper, Ryle

District 6 – Boone County, Campbell County, Simon Kenton

District 7 – Bryan Station, Henry Clay, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Scott County

District 8 – George Rogers Clark, Lafayette, Madison Central, Tates Creek

Scott County is like the big 3 at this point and does not count as a dark horse IMO.

I will go with the dark horse being the 5th place team from District 3. That 5th place team will likely be pretty good and have a chance at beating the #1 seed in District 8. They win that one, they get a 2/3 seed team in round 2 who should be an easier game than round 1. Now they are in the regional final against another team they can beat so the only real big upset needed to get to the title game would most likely be Scott County in the semi-finals. I am thinking Manual or PRP as the 5th place team in District 3 and a true dark horse possibility.
