What team has a good shot making a solid run and knocking some of the favorites out? Why do you think so?

Can I take X?

In this class I’d say anybody but Trinity.

Never much competition outside of Trinity and X, but if I had to choose my dark horse it would definitely have to be Scott County. They always have the offense to compete but if the defense steps up they can be dangerous

The way Male beat Bowling Green and number of starters they have back, they could be a dark horse. I think last year they held Trinity to around 21 points. Their issue was offense which should be better this year.

Maybe Butler? Their playoff run last year was impressive and expectations are high. The district is insanely tough though, which makes every playoff game a war.

Trinity, Male, and X are not dark horses... Ever.

Frederick Douglass could be a dark horse. They have good QB and a lot of speed at WR.

Trinity, Male, and X are not dark horses... Ever.

Agree with this. Give me Butler as the Darkhorse. By playing that difficult schedule they will not be scared when they take the field with those teams. Most all the rest likely would.

I’d say Frederick Douglas and Butler are possible dark horse teams, I expect FD to be really good this season.

Trinity, Male, and X are not dark horses... Ever.

The Louisville schools are all on the west side of the bracket this year. That means someone from northern Kentucky or Central Kentucky/Lexington will be in the state championship game. It probably makes sense to search a darkhorse from this crew:

District 5 – Conner, Cooper, Ryle

District 6 – Boone County, Campbell County, Simon Kenton

District 7 – Bryan Station, Frederick Douglass, Henry Clay, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Scott County

District 8 – George Rogers Clark, Lafayette, Madison Central, Tates Creek

Playoff pairing are

1 vs. 4

2 vs. 3

5 vs. 8

6 vs. 7
