I'd say the fact that Oldham County didn't request to move is why they weren't moved today. If the KHSAA moved them based on another school's request then you open a huge can of worms and set a precedent that is sure to be used by others going forward.

 

As to why Oldham isn't in the Louisville district is another question entirely. There are no Oldham folks on the Board of Control so that theory is out. I do think they're in an easier district now; is it possible they said they'd drop out of district play if placed in Louisville, which would have resulted in a 5A school having to bump up to 6A to keep the number at 32? That's my only guess.

The proposal was linked in their BOC agenda today but haven't heard if it passed. There was only one option so I'm guessing it will continue.

The Board of Control conducted its final meeting of the 2017-18 academic year on May 8-9 at the KHSAA offices, addressing several issues related to football along with the postseason for multiple sport-activities.

 

Following initial review in February, KHSAA staff presented the draft football alignment (2019-22) to the membership for comment. After a lengthy review of feedback and consideration of each change proposed by the membership, the Board approved a final four-year alignment to begin in 2019. second, they asked if someone would volunteer to travel and OC did.

third, If there is 32 teams in a class, someone has to travel. I noticed there is a 5 team district in 6A? Why didnt a 5A team volunteer to play up in 6A and make even districts?

There is also a 3 team district in 6A, geography determined those districts more than anything.
