WVU's defense is not good enough to hold U of L to 21 points.

Have you seen Louisville's offense lately. They need to get their mojo back and I am not sure if this is the team to do that against.

Going into this weekend's games WVU HAD ZERO SACKS ON THE season.

WVU's defense is not good enough to hold U of L to 21 points.

I'd say theirs is better than UC's...

Let's find out the WHOLE story.

West Virginia

Rush Defense - 16th - 89.3/game

Pass Defense - 43rd - 182.14/game

Total Defense - 17th - 271.43/game

Scoring Defense - 10th - 12.7 ppg

Cincinnati

Rush Defense - 18th - 93.0

Pass Defense - 94th - 229.57 (after Louisville)

Total Defense - 55th - 322.57

Scoring Defense - 54th - 20.9 ppg

Louisville

Rush Defense - 9th - 74.9

Pass Defense - 75th - 209.71

Total Defense - 25th - 284.57

Scoring Defense - 8th - 12.6 ppg

Let's try to keep in mind who UC has played thus far, compared to WVU ;)

By the way, anyone see what Louisville held Syracuse to on the ground?

I'll save you some time- it was 19 yards.

Louisville has been getting ready for this game since Summer practice started by emphasizing run defense. It will pay off a week from Thursday when Louisville shuts WVU down on national television.

My biggest knock on UofL thus far is that they have seemed to play to the level of their competition... or at least what they think that competition is. Just like the Miami game, the players and fans will be riled up and will not have a first quarter like they had against Syracuse. In addition to the absolute necessity of Brohm being back to his old form, I think we'll see some new running plays. I don't think Petrino's used anywhere near the potential for formations with two running backs and I wouldn't be shocked if he pulls something out of his hat next Thursday.

UofL - 45

WVU - 31

Louisville will win by 10+. ;)

Just curious on when you guys plan on starting the "Will the Mountaineers stomp on the Bird" thread?

I will keep in mind that UC has played a better schedule than both WVU and UL... With that said, I think that WVU is a lil bit better on paper and they have both played equally weak schedules by far. I will stick with my prediction of WVU.

If you hate to talk about it, why bring it up??

Sorry, Syracuse doesn't have Slayton or White running the ball.

I foresee 2 100+ yard games for WVU
