I bet as a UK fan you wish the ONLY thing that got stomped at Commonwealth was the logo.

Nice.

Heard Lee Corso talking this weekend and his view was that if Florida/Auburn was in the Big East, they would finish the season undefeated. UL/WVU in the SEC and they are not undefeated at this point of the season.

I would have felt more confident if the Cards had looked a little better the past 2 or 3 games. Vanilla game plan or not, a team that aspires to crash the BCS should have handled Cincinnati and Syracuse easier than they did.

I agree. I have never followed the "vanilla game plan" logic... which always comes after a non-impressive win.

Who is carrying this game on television? ESPN?

:thumb: Yep. A week from Thursday.

I noticed that trend as well. And, I'm not saying it isn't true. They likely don't show everything in these games, but if they're as good as they say, they should be able to dominate lesser opponents without unleashing Petrino's whole bag of tricks.

I also understand that teams have down games from time to time. But, there are a lot of other factors to raise some serious doubt about Louisville going into this game.

Is Brohm 100%? And, if he is, how sharp is he right now?

How much will Michael Bush be missed in a game like this?

In reality, how good are the Cardinals? They haven't played a real good opponent yet. That's not to discount the win over Miami, but the 'Canes haven't proven to be very good this year.

Should we be concerned with the Cards sudden decline in offensive output over the past 3 games? And their struggles against Syracuse and Cincinnati?

These are all valid questions, in my mind, and they raise some serious doubts for me as to whether U of L can win this game. I really hope they do, and I thought they would earlier in the season. But, now, if I judge fairly, I really have to favor West Virginia in this game.

Maybe being looked at as the underdog will motivate the 'Cards and propel them to victory. We'll see.

Everyone is talking about how Louisville really hasn't played anybody that good this year...Have any of you looked at WVU's schedule??

Brohm physically is about 98%. He'll be 100% well before next Thursday. It's mental rust that needs to be cleared for him to be fine, and except for one VERY HORRIBLE THROW last week, I would have said it was done with.

This is NOT the game we'll miss Bush for, btw. That was Miami. No matter how bad their offense is they still have a pretty good defense, and not having Bush to run straight at them hurt us early. If we'd had Bush, that game might have gotten out of hand. Against WVU, I think we'll be able to establish our running game well enough with the backs we have. Especially with Kolby running a little more north and south like he was last week.

I don't worry about our defense in this one. Louisville's front seven (and safties) are playing the run well enough that WVU isn't going to run all over us, I don't care if they can spread us out from 65 to the Watterson. Our passing defense is our weakness, and WVU can't exploit it.

What does worry me are the dropped passes. We have to catch those balls.

Their schedule is so bad nobody even wants to talk about it.

This game is very hard to predict. I believe UL will haf ta score 28 or more points to win. It should be interesting to see what happens. Its the biggest Thursday night game of the year!

Exactly...:thumb:

West Virginia in a doozy 35-31.

Hard to predict, so you'll err on the side of caution and take the away team. Gotcha.:thumb:

LOL...

The reason why I picked WVU is because they have White and Slayton. Both have one big games in the past and have shown they can get it done. If Bush were healthy, it being at home Id give the nod to UL. But in this situation I give WVU the slight nod.

WVU will control time of possession, and keep UofL's offense off the field.

But even at that, I predict a high-scoring game.

WVU 38 - UofL 31
