March 9, 20188 yr Correct. Just wondering, how often does the same player win both awards? Is a good question. I'm also not sure how long the Gatorade award has been around. Seems fairly new but I could be wrong. Re: Gatorade PoY and Mr. Basketball awards. The same player has won both awards in the same year about 80% of the time. Fair indicator?
March 9, 20188 yr Re: Gatorade PoY and Mr. Basketball awards. The same player has won both awards in the same year about 80% of the time. Fair indicator? I hope, but if Eastern Kentucky or Central Kentucky have a viable candidate, they are always going to be tough to beat.
March 9, 20188 yr Re: Gatorade PoY and Mr. Basketball awards. The same player has won both awards in the same year about 80% of the time. Fair indicator? 9 of the last 11. I predict it will be 9 of the last 12 after this year.

March 9, 20188 yr Correct. Just wondering, how often does the same player win both awards? 87, 97, 99, 01, 05, 11, 16 are the years with different winners. 97 and 01 the Gatorade POY was a junior and therefore not eligible for Mr Bball.
March 9, 20188 yr Congrats to him. When I got to watch him play, I noticed he didn’t do anything fancy. He simply put his head down and did his job, and that’s what I think makes him a fantastic player.
March 10, 20188 yr You mean first player from Cincinnati to win it in Kentucky right. Lol JK congrats to CJ
March 10, 20188 yr The nice thing about this thread so far ... almost all congratulations. No whining by homers about how someone else got robbed. No back and forth with stats about this guy or that guy should have won. Kudos to all those fans of players on other teams for taking the high road and not turning the thread into something it should not be. Congrats to Fredrick!
March 11, 20188 yr You mean first player from Cincinnati to win it in Kentucky right. Lol JK congrats to CJ Is he from Cincinnati? If so why wouldn’t he chose a GCL school? Just curious.....
March 11, 20188 yr Is he from Cincinnati? If so why wouldn’t he chose a GCL school? Just curious..... I'm guessing he pick Covcath cause his Uncle is a coach at Covcath.

Kudos to all those fans of players on other teams for taking the high road and not turning the thread into something it should not be. Congrats to Fredrick! That’s because C.J. won it. If it would have been AK I think we know who would have been the first to whine or throw up stats and numbers!!
March 11, 20188 yr I'm guessing he pick Covcath cause his Uncle is a coach at Covcath. Makes sense. I forgot about that.
