9th Region Tournament Field

None at all. CovCath and Cooper should be the championship game. Now we'll see a blowout in the championship game.

Just like we saw Newport get blown out by CovCath in the 2015 Finals (Lost in OT) or 2010 when Newport upset heavily favored CovCath.

Very strange the only games listed on the KHSAA site for the 9th region are the first round games on Wednesday, Thursday but nothing else. All of the other regions semis and finals are listed as well.

Now they just posted it.

Newport should not be overlooked by anyone, If they can make finals.

I've got my Saturday planned go to EKU for the 11th region semis at 1:30 & 3:15. Then drive up I-75 to NKU and see the Cov. Cath and Cooper game at 8:30 and probably catch at least half of the Dixie Heights and Newport game.

You’re making too much sense. Nobody but a select few will listen. It’s “supposed” to be Cooper/CovCath.

This would be much, much bigger than either of those two years.

What was the out come this season when CCH played Newport and Cooper played Newport??

They (Newport) lost to Cooper 74-48 and never played Cov. Cath.

Wasn't 2010 Holmes, the defending state champions with most of their team back, the team that got beat by Newport? With all due respect, Colonel Pops, in 2010 it was the defending state champion that was supposed to repeat ... that was a pretty doggone big upset.

Well for starters, Newport and CovCath didn’t play. Secondly Cooper beat Newport soundly. Newport didn’t exactly play all too well and anybody that watched it can tell you that. But I won’t change your mind so believe as you wish.

I really like Newport but I believe like most there is a huge gap from Cooper, CCH and the rest of the ninth region

And that’s completely fine. I’ve not seen CovCath but assume they’re as good as people say. I’ve seen Cooper twice and they’re outstanding as well but they’re also beatable. I don’t think the gap is nearly as big as Northern KY thinks. But that’s just me. Depth is Newport’s only knock. But I do believe they have a very legitimate shot at winning the 9th.

Any given night..... one team off - the other on - and who knows. There’re 15-18 year olds. Gotta play em all!

The 2015 game was in the 1st Rd. In the 2010 game, Newport was the favorite.
