February 8, 20188 yr SGA had played way to many minutes last night going into the last 2 possession (39 min out of 40). Cal has to get the kid some breaks/rest even if it's just 3 min total. Call the TO and he get's to rest and you set something up. Green was also playing a good game and sat to long really. I'd liked to have seen him get more looks late to keep SGA from doing it all and Tenn collapsing on him. SGA and Green have to start and play together. IMO He's too busy trying to teach guys that minimum effort gets minimum floor time. Last night it was Diallo and I get it, he deserved to sit and watch, but it was at SGA's expense. This team just has way too many guys that at times go through the motions and Cal has to jerk them out when they do that. My main concern is that their best overall player Knox seems to have already checked out and into the NBA draft after scouts saw him go wild against WVU. He doesn't seem to want to mix it up down low and maybe he is already taking the injury avoiding approach and playing out the season, just mho.
February 8, 20188 yr Villanova, UVA and Purdue have separated themselves. You can take the Top 10 and say the same. I already know you’re gonna say I’m wrong which is fine. Also those top 3, probably wouldn’t be too worried with UK/UNC in the second round. Funny you should throw those 3 teams out and #1 Villanova goes down at home to unranked St. Johns after trailing the whole game, #2 Virginia wins late at unranked Florida State after trailing most of the game and Purdue goes down at home to Ohio State. Like Gametime said there are no GREAT teams.
February 8, 20188 yr I think someone hit the nail on the head earlier when they said the point guards on this team have a difficult time getting assists because there is no one open that can hit shots. Heck these guys stand around so much I am surprised there is ever anyone open to pass to. The only easy assists are when they get the occassional dunk by Richards who is almost and I say almost as soft as "Mr. Softee, Skal", was in his short time as a wildcat.
February 8, 20188 yr A great team will lose the occasional game. There may not be any great teams. But I still wouldn't consider UK among the good ones.
February 8, 20188 yr So your post validates my point. Green was brought in to be PG and has lost that battle. So now he moves to the 2 and you now have two guys who are handling the ball, both of which struggle to create for others. Hence, why this offense bogs down, especially with no outside shooting. Not sure where I validate that Quade Greene is an awful college basketball player. And he didn't "lose a battle". He got injured and Cal went in a totally different direction with how he ran the team. He provides practically the Cats only outside shooting.

The offense bogs down because Knox, Diallo, and etc. are terrible at moving without the ball.
February 8, 20188 yr I’ll let you continue being optimistic and will leave it at that. I'm not being optimistic...I'm being realistic. Anyone can beat anyone this season. There are no dominant teams and the NCAA tournament is going to be absolutely nuts.
February 8, 20188 yr Villanova, Virginia, Duke, Purdue, Michigan State, Kansas, Xavier, Cincinnati, Tennessee, Arizona, Gonzaga, St. Mary's, Texas Tech....Off the top of my head, those are all teams with much better chances than Kentucky to make a run come March.

February 8, 20188 yr :lol2::lol2::lol2: What's so funny? Do you think KY has a better chance than those teams?
