October 17, 200619 yr If you only read the title, it does look like it's a question of whether or not Brooks should be fired. Should he be fired, I'd like to see them hire a young promising coach...
October 17, 200619 yr I would love to see them go after Terry Bowden. I don't Bobby would even hire Terry. I bet they don't even let him sit at the grown up's table during the Holidays.
October 17, 200619 yr Isn't he the highest paid college coach, in the nation including his incentives and media deals?..... I like him too but can't seem him leaving that deal, which increases $100K annually, if I'm not mistaken. He's not a college coach...He coaches the Dolphins. I am for Rich Rodriguez...I posted awhile back that I read he was frustrated that he and his wife had to do most of the fundraising at WV...but I have also read that he may be the next Miami coach.

I know, should have used "wasn't" he, instead of "isn't". My apologies....:thumb:
October 17, 200619 yr I hope that Brooks is back next year with a new DC but if he is fired I think that Charlie Strong would be a interesting hire if he would take it. If we do bring in a new head coach I hope that the new head coach would keep Joker on the staff because keeping Joker would help in recruiting as far as the young guys on the team right now and the players we are currently recruiting.
October 17, 200619 yr ...will David Cutcliffe be the next head coach? I don't see Cutcliffe taking any HC position. I think he's perfectly happy running the O at UT.
October 17, 200619 yr I am not for firing Brooks right now. :thumb: I'm really surprised that a bad loss at LSU had caused such an outcry. LSU is a far more talented team, far more experienced and playing at home. UK's talent is improving, but due to the scholarship reductions, they still don't have near the depth they need. Plus, a large portion of their talent is very young and inexperienced. Youth and inexperience is hard to overcome for the elite teams when they play tough competition, much less for UK. I still say this season and Brooks future hinges on the "winnable" games...Miss State, Vandy, and Community College?...6 wins and a bowl would be nice. I would prefer to see Brooks at least get to remain the head coach through the next season. My hope is that Brooks can stay in place and continue with the improvement they are showing, get the program back to full scholarship/full roster, get it on solid ground and headed in the right direction. Brooks is fairly old, so he isn't going to coach that long I wouldn't think. So, if we can be patient and let him get us going in the right direction, the UK job is going to be more attractive for potential coaches than it's ever been. Then, we might actually be able to land a pretty good coach and take our program up another notch. I'm not sure that Brooks can get us to a really high level, but I think he can get us to the point where UK will be a more attractive job for available coaches, and then we might actually achieve something. I could be wrong though.
October 17, 200619 yr I believe that he should be fired, I am not really seeing the improvement that he said existed.
October 17, 200619 yr I really hope if Brooks goes that its not Joker. He is still a little ways from being ready I believe. Here's the thing, I see the same kind of situation that we had before. We arent under probation, but its not exactly a highly desirable position. I dont believe that we can fill it the way the fans want it. I dont know who to get.

I like him too but can't seem him leaving that deal, which increases $100K annually, if I'm not mistaken. Nick Saban is the Miami Dolphins head coach, he doesn't coach in college anymore....
October 17, 200619 yr They shouldn't fire him unless they are ready to completely rebuild the program from the ground up, again. If UK continues to change coaches every 4-6 years they will never build the program they are attempting to build. There are definitely coaching staff changes needed, but Brooks has UK going in the right direction, they just need 'a few more years.'
October 17, 200619 yr Part of me says Keep Brooks, the team has showed some promise this season and lets see what he can do with a full fleet of scholarships. Definatley need a new D-Coordinator as of like yesterday, Brooks does need fired if he doesnt let the D-Coordinator go. The other Part of me says UK has the best fans in the world, they deserve a top notch football program so lets bring in a Coach that is proven and can get us to the TOP. I say go after David Cutcliff.
