Coach Flynn had you guys deep in the regional tournament several times and in the state tournament twice. It isn't and can't get much better than that. Since consolidation I would say that is the best anyone can expect.

Um, no. Deep in the region tournament doesnt do anything for me, or most Ashland fans. Neither does 2 times to Rupp in 9 years, or senior classes of 1 or 2 players because by the time kids get to 12th grade they are sick of it. We will actually have cuts this year, what a novel idea! There may actually be more kids that want to play than we have room for!

I find it interesting that Ashland fans are not satisfied with Flynns accomplishments during his time there yet his W/L percentage upon leaving Ashland is nearly identical to what it was when he was hired by Ashland. His performance was good enough to be hired, he maintained the same level of success yet it was not good enough to be retained. I know he left on his own but you get my point.

Since 1980 Boyd Co. leads the region in championships. Rowan and Greenup have each won multiple titles during this time also.

I agree I think it was time for a change,nothing against Flynn but what Ashland has for a team does not fit his style,Biggs can make it happen.

First I'd like to apologize to GIAT for my mistake. It's a mistake I make them. I know the concept of rent. I know Boyd Co. would expect money for the use of their gym, but the figure $7,000 was brought up. This would allow plenty extra for the two teams to split. For the record I don't care if the game is played in GIAT's back yard, I just want to see the game played. I think the kids on both teams need it.

Well your putting alot of faith in one man. He can only coach what he has and other schools are just as big or bigger and have just as many talented kids. The days of winning 8 out of 10 regions are over.

Im not necessarily concerned with winning the region every year. Im more concerned with the direction and interest of the program. Over the last few years the direction seemed down as well as interest. A new coach brings a new direction, renewed interest, and a playing style that kids want to play. That is something I welcome with open arms. :thumb:

I understand where your coming from and from a style of play stand point I completely understand. On the interest front I think that has been happening across the board for quite sometime. With basketball on TV every night people just don't come out like the used to.
