Was thinking the exact same thing. Only what I heard and don’t know to be fact but I heard he was passed over twice while he was there.

 

He has a good thing going at Ryle even though many believe they have under achieved I don’t see him walking away from there maybe he’s interested idk.

 

I heard Engler never applied for it either time. Don’t know if he would have gotten it, but from my understanding is he didn’t pursue it. He does have a good thing going at Ryle and he’s done a great job. I don’t understand where people think he’s under achieved. Ryle wasnt exactly setting the win column on fire before he took over. All he’s done is win! I believe his 3 loses this year were to 3 very good football teams. Didn’t they lose several key players during the season to injuries and they still beat an undefeated Simon Kenton. I don’t know his overall record but his only loss in 2016 was to a very good Scott County team. Seems to me that he’s doing something right!

Short version is the administration at that time at Lex Cath and Engler didnt agree on a few things if I recall correctly. (nothing bad or major, just differences in opinion.)

 

To be fair, that administration is no longer at Lex Cath I believe.

 

Actually its is. Sally Stevens (principle) will retire after the school year. The AD and assistants are different slightly but you would recognize all the names there.

 

In 2013 there was subcommittee formed to focus on this. The Perry decision was quick and fairly decisive.
