October 15, 200619 yr I have seen Grutza play several times this season, and on a good team the kid good be special!
October 15, 200619 yr The turnover before the half really hurt UC. UL never really got it going on 'O', Brohm 320+ yds and his Wr's dropped more than a few. One thing I learned during the broadcast, Oscar Brohm is the head coach at Trinity, thought we would find that out first on BGP.

October 15, 200619 yr Just got back from the game...Cards looked bad..well the offense anyway. The Cards had just about everything go wrong....Brian making bad passes, dropped passes, and 2 lost fumbles inside their own 20. Heck even the Cardinal Bird missed the stadium on his parachute jump! I actually think that Hunter would have done a better job today...but Brian needed this to work out the bugs and get back in the swing. Good Things: Defense Kolby not playing as much as Bolen and Allen. Special teams looked better. I thought Brian looked dead on except for two passes. Cincy played very, very well today, you can see that they have things going in the right direction. Just way, way too many mis-cues, be it dropped balls or fumbles, etc....regroup, beat a fiesty Syracuse team in the Carrier Dome, and then part III of the season starts.

It is just the rust factor I think he will be fine after this week. It was like I was telling my friends at the game. Putting him in this game was a bad decision for THIS game, but it is a good decision for the rest of the season.

One pass to the FB was a rocket when more touch was needed. He was off on several passes and the interception was a terrible decision...there were 2 Cinci players waiting for the ball....looked like a panic pass.... Don't get me wrong. I think Brian is great. I also agree with the move to get him in because like Ram said....it is good for the rest of the season. This was the game for Brian shake the rust off....and now UL can roll the rest of the way. This closeness of this game will also help with team focus. ...still undefeated!
October 15, 200619 yr Thanks Cpt. I was about ready to nominate that post for the Captain Obvious award for the week
October 15, 200619 yr This was a game that made me sick to my stomach as a fan, but in the end made me moderatly happy. I'm much more pleased with this performance than I was after MTSU. Because this was the same game we played against South Florida last year. Just about everything went wrong for us in that game, and we laid down and died for a team that was a little bit of a sleeper. That was the '05 season for us. This season, I've really been much more impressed with the team maturity. No time more so than last night. The fumbles, all the drops, the breakdowns of QB contain once Anderson was out of the game; this team has a mental toughness we lacked last year, and I really wanted to highlight it. It won the game for us.

When things were looking bad yesterday (which was pretty much right from the beginning) that thought popped into my head...There for a while, I really thought we were going to lose...Thankfully, we didn't....
