UC's Dantonio on "bird stomping"

Featured Replies

So you're admitting that the UC players did do the big bad thing and start stomping, right? Regardless of being 'tricked' into it in your opinion.

As the situation escelated, UC lost their cool, and like I said, took the bait. Sounds like word is getting out on the UL tactics before a game in defense of that poor little bird...

This is a lot bigger than just this board and clearly I'm not the only one who feels this way.

But WE are on this board...If you don't like hearing it talked about on THIS board, don't post about it...How hard is that?

You act like Lexington is all aflame with this topic and you can't escape it.

 Hardly. I've yet to hear it mentioned in this grand city.

Must not be as big as some are making it then, eh?

About as hard as trying to be a mod when you're not. I'll post what I want, when I want.:thumb:

No one is trying to be a mod...We already have one here that is doing a great job stirring the pot. ;) My point is, if you bring it up, dont complain about it being discussed.

Most teams disrespect the UK scoreboard every time they come to Lexington.........Is that the same?

Nobody is complaining about it being discussed. Just the whole thing in general is WAY, WAY out of hand IMO. There are shirts now about it right?

Stirring the pot? Moi? I simply posted a link to a article from a Major Paper about the "bird incident." You guys (both sides of the aisle) are the ones that ran with it.

Listen, if my team was 7-0 (or whatever their record is) I'd be thrilled to death, and would be looking for any reason in the world to get a chip on our shoulder aginst inferior competition. I don't begrudge you that. I'm always the first UK fan to say I'm envious as heck of UL's success.

I just enjoy the fact that "the bird" has become some sort of mecca to the red and black from the 'ville.

And I can see where you are coming from...So instead of leaving it alone, somebody posts an article talking about it, which inevitably sparks this conversation, making it bigger than it was before on this board...I think you can see where Im coming from, too.

I could care less about stomping on some paint in the middle of a football field, but I will attempt to make an analogy on the situation.

UL Bird Stomping = Ann Coulter (dont' get too scared, let me explain)

Ann Coulter makes a big deal and comes up with crazy stories all the time... even writes smear books with catchy titles. She promotes it and her message to sell what she produces. If everyone would pretend she does not exist, then maybe she would not exist (let us pray the same for Tom Cruise). By feeding Coulter, it gives her more of a reason to respond and makes her believe even more what she says is true.

So, I see both sides of it.

UL guy: I really feel the whole thing was generated by... well, I am not sure what. I knew nothing about it until about a month ago; but, it apparently gives the Cardinals supernatural powers on the football field so it is brought to the public's view. The majority outside of "The Ville" are puzzled by this, more than anything, and continue to bring it up... reinforcing the notion of UL guy that it is a big deal.

Please realize this is an attempt of humor with a sprinkle of truth. I feel bad bringing Coulter into anything.:D

It's easy to make fun of, because this hasn't happened anywhere else...If something of the sort would have started at UK instead of UL, I'd bet a fat man a quarter that some of the same would be going on.

Don't get me wrong, I see where you guys are coming from. My only point is that if you think it's ridiculous, why post on it?

Nice...
