Boyle as bad as they want

Boyle will beat Mercer up front on both sides of the ball. Skill players are possibly a toss up. Mercer has had a really hard time stopping the run between the tackles. Unless they have figured out something in the off week this will be the best line they have faced all year.

I think you're right!

There is discussion on some of the other threads about resting players in these games that don't really affect your playoff position. I don't think coach Smith subscribes to this philosophy but might it make sense to get some quality playing time for the young men that will be starting next year. The second teamers have had there share of snaps but only after the game was well in hand. Or do you keep the young men who have brought you this level of success conditioned and psyched up for game time no mater who the opponent is.

I think business as usual play your starters till the game is in hand then put your 2nd and 3rd teamers in don't mess up the mojo called momentum.

With this game not mattering in the playoff scheme of things and Boyle looking to be the superior team. Does the fact that Coach Smith being close friends with Coach Buchanan play into the final score? I mean there has been discussion in the past of Coach Smith playing against former players that were coaching (Travis Leffew) so just wanted everyone thoughts as I think this is the first time these two have coached against one another. I know that Coach Smith was a coach under Buchanan's father and they battled with Coach B. running the scout team against Coach S. Defense. However they have not played in a real game (if that is incorrect please let me know) so this should be interesting to see if the friendship plays any part in the final.

My guess is the foot will stay to the floor until a running clock is achieved. If Boyle can't get the running clock the starters stay in.

I should have looked it up prior to but you are right it was 2000 and the score was 62-6 Boyle I was there but for some reason I am drawing a blank on that one.

I believe Mason county was undefeated when they came to Boyle in the playoffs they had one of the best receivers in the state, but Boyle's 2000 team is by far the best high school team I've ever seen.

Exactly! In Mason County's defense not many teams could have beat that Boyle County team.
