Male 80 Iroquois 6

Featured Replies

If they had made extra points they would have had even more! Had Irq done something to provoke the slaughter? If this is just a chest beating exercise it could come back to haunt Bobby. Anybody know what the record is for most points in a game? By one team... by both?

Why does Male only have 9 games. They are on track to score 840 points if they make it to the state finals.

The record for most points I believe is over 100, it was set in the early 1900's.

The owensboro game was cancelled on account of the rain.

80 points is a lot, and, IMO, not necessary. I do not believe you tell reserve players to lie down, but it looks like Beaumont may have been in there running up some Mr. Football numbers?

In 2000 Rockcastle County scored 81 on Knott County Central (district) starters were pulled in 1st quarter. The reserves (9th, 10th graders) scored all but 3 touchdowns. No one ever blames the other team in these situations but it is a lot of the time their fault as well. I mean some teams will not quit throwing the ball allowing the defense to intercept and often run it back for TD, and it also stops the clock before the 2nd half and the clock can run all the time.

Remember, Male only plays 9 games and these kids worked hard all summer to get ready to play. So friday (thursday) comes and these 15-17 year olds want to play. Now what do you tell them, "run out bounds, don't recover the fumble in the end zone, drop the pass, drop the interception, Doug sorry but maybe you can play in the X game...you might score too many touchdowns and folks might get the wrong idea". My post earlier mentioned 75 to 25. And the Iroquois kids played as hard as they could and laid some hits on the Dawgs. This group of seniors were undefeated as Freshmen, Sophomores, and as Seniors so far.

Putting up 80 on a team like Iroquis doesn't show anything. Doing what they did to PRP was much more impressive in my opinion. Definitely the team to beat thus far this year.

I agree I think Male is the team to beat for the 4A title, I still think X and T can beat them, although they would have to play great

Your exactly right.

It is funny how scores work. If the score would have been 79-7, a lot less fuss would have arisen.

Dang that is pretty impressive they obvioulsy have the skills and the offense and from what I've seen the last 2 weeks the defense to be a threat. Who knows they keep playing liek this they could be in Papa Johns Stadium come December.

All of his madness came in the first half. Which, IMO, is fair game. 61-0 at the half, I see nothing wrong with that.

Who among us should question Coach Redmond's strategies and tactics?

There is a running clock to prevent humiliation. That is the KHSAA rule to address these type of games.

There is no rule that says "do not try hard gentlemen we do not want to hurt anyone's feelings".

This was not a case of running up the score. It was the case, as in every game, of one team winning and the other losing.

Be proud Bulldogs. Continue to work hard Raiders.

Very impressive. Maybe they can score 90 next game. Run the score up. Kick em when they are down. The Coach must be a real class act.

You sound like the Coach's number one fan. Don't try to justify this behavior by the coach. It's wrong and you know it. Russell has played teams where the score could have been 100 to 0. The Coach does have ways to control this.

I totally disagree. I played for coach redman and he does not like to run up the score, but since he has many seniors this year maybe he just wants them to get a little in game experience before they take the team next year. So your telling me that Coach Redman should have knelt on every play and then punted just so he would not run up the score. That is outragious to suggest that kids should not play as hard as they can especially when they do not get much playing time in the first place.
