When is the last time you saw that out of a Male defense? Pre-Redman?

 

I don't remember--not many times in the Redman era (1992-present). It seemed unusual enough when I saw it earlier this year to be noteworthy. There have been times when I thought they should have two safeties and they just kept one. And sometimes that 'safety' plays so close to the line, I would hesitate to call him a safety at all!

Believe it or not Male went with two at times in the 02 state game. I think both defenses tried anything that night.

You sound like the Coach's number one fan. Don't try to justify this behavior by the coach. It's wrong and you know it. Russell has played teams where the score could have been 100 to 0. The Coach does have ways to control this.

They did drop two guys, but they still had man responsibilities which is where the problem lies.
