Hoover, AL looking for game on 9/29/07

I disagree. I think you may be putting too much stock in the fact that they're private schools. Male consistantly competes with St. X and Trinity and is pretty much on the same level. I'd say Male's better this year, though I haven't actually seen them play.

No, I know Male is a very good team and this particular year, is as good, but, if you look at state championships in the last 15-20 years, you see Trinity and X in there alot more...The thread is about Hoover, Al needing an opponent for nx year...I just don't think any Ky team would match up very well...Thats why I'd like to see 1 of the GCL schools play them..

A lot of those championship games were against Male. Trinity and X may get that extra umph in that final game to win, but I disagree that they're on a different level. Same level, better luck, and slightly better coaching... Redman can get cocky and unfocused for those games. But hey, that's just my opinion. The championships are indeed the biggest statements.

I agree that T and X (and for my money, Male) would probably lose against Hoover, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them make a game of it.

I can see it already....

Hoover Bucs....

versuses....

the pride of Louisville...

SHAWNEE

I'd love to see T or X play them!

They have no more open dates, all district games, but if the team their playing wants to back out, which will not happen, they could play them!!!

Next year we have all kinds of stuff available.

From watching MTV and seeing the show TWOADAYS, Hoover has some of the best facilities and athletes. I'd like to see a great game with a high power from the state of KY. I have to say the best three teams to choose from in the state of KY would be : 1 St. X, 2 Trinity, and 3 Highlands

Warren Centeral has a classic that they play every year I think it's the second Saturday in August. They play all day, they bring in three teams from out of state. Warren Centeral plays one and they invite two other Indiana teams to play the other two. I know it's a problem with contracts and I don't know how far out highschyools schedule but I would love to see Trinity, St X or Male come up and play in it

BRJB, I'm not sure what team you support, but consider this. At least Trinity can generate a discussion of such a game. Not too many other teams would even generate a discussion. It's lonely at the top.

Anybody can discuss such a game. Doesn't mean they will be taken seriously. And I don't think Trinity is lonely, lol.

Hoover 45

Trinity 12

^ Absolutely no chance that we would get beat by that much, this year by Hoover.

Then Hoover is nowhere near as good as Warren Central. If Trinity could hang within 33 points of Warren Central this season, it would be a very respectable showing.

I think that defensively we are as solid as we've been in years. That alone would help. Plus we can play a ball control offense, if needed. We could get beat by numerous top teams around the country. I don;t see us getting blown out.

The bottom line, IMO, who knows until you play.

I played for Hanover College for a bit in the mid 90's and had some guys from Warren Central, Ben Davis, etc.. on my team. They were good but I still think a good X or T team could play and win/compete.

I would love to see the Tigers play anyone.

Opening the new stadium next year with Ben Davis, Cincy X etc would be great.

Am I blind, or has Hoover looked no more impressive on film than four teams I have seen out of Kentucky this year, and five I have seen out of Cincinatti?
