16thBBall Fan Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Final. Tough loss. A rough two days with the Cats last night and this one today.
16thBBall Fan Posted September 24, 2017 Author Posted September 24, 2017 Stupid timeout on first play of overtime put Dalton under center for almost the first time today. That's how you throw the ball down the field Andy instead of 1 and 2 yard throws.
sumoroyal Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Second and 12, Green runs a crossing route at the line of scrimmage. Brutal!!!
Run To State Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Anyone feel like they watched the UK/Florida game again?
GrantNKY Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Just gut wrenching. Absolutely gut wrenching.
GrantNKY Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Anyone else wish someone on the team would show some emotion. Throw your helmet, punch something. ACT LIKE YOU CARE!!
hrcarrier Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Rough loss, defense played well. Can't stop a quarterback like Rogers for a whole game, would be impossible.
sumoroyal Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 We just got to keep chopping wood next week.
futurecoach Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Defense imo played a good game. From the final 2 minutes of the first half on bad Andy was back. I liked the offensive coordinator better. However when your qb consistently leaves points on the field it's a problem. He cost them possibly 13 points today. The sack he took that made it a long field goal. Yes the kicker needs to make it, however it should have been a 38 yarder not a 48 yarder. Then Dalton missing a wide open Green with under 2 minutes to go in the first half cost them at least 3 points. Then obviuosly completely over throwing an open Lafell for a td. So far in all 3 games Dalton has missed throws even in clean pockets that has cost them points. Going into the game today Dalton was dead last in qbs in qb rating when he has had a clean pocket and no pressure. I know people like to make excuses for him, however he is struggling even when he has time.

Imo it all starts with our qb. He is not a leader. He doesn't hold goes accountable, and smiles when he knows he misses open receivers. He is not a guy players would want to rally behind. All teammates will say the right thing about him in public, because he is their teammate and a great dude. Howvwer he is not a leader.
Voice of Reason Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 At the end of the day, it looked a lot like the same Bengals we have seen for 7 years under Marvin ... 1. Dalton cannot make plays under pressure. 2. Defense can't get stops when we really need them. 3. Marvin coaches too conservatively to win big games in the NFL.

nkypete Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 Hey, at least the kicker we didn't want made a 61 yard field goal to win it for the Eagles. Doesn't that count for something?
16thBBall Fan Posted September 25, 2017 Author Posted September 25, 2017 Not only was this a tough loss, but a win today and victory over the Browns next week and with the Steelers and Ravens playing they would be tied for 2nd in the division only 1 game back.
