October 1, 200619 yr I don't think it matters. The Americam League representative, whoever it is, will be a tough task to deal with. Maybe the Mets might put up a fight, but the other 3 Nationals have slim hopes, imo.
October 2, 200619 yr The Cardinals overcame a lot of optsticles this year. Several starters being on the DL at one time or another. Pujols, Rolen, Edmomds, Eckstein,and Mulder to name a few. They were also without their best BP man from the 2005 season in Allan Reyes. Other players were suprises like Chris Duncan, Adam Wainwright who was their best BP man and Scott Speizio. The CARDS went through inconsistent pitching. They survived two 8-game losing streaks but in the end they won their division. People can say it was luck, or they didn't deserve it but in the end their Division Champions and that means something.
October 2, 200619 yr Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!! I will now have to look at the man who invented baseball for at least another week or two. I guess I can look at like this though....... will get to watch Larussa blow another post season, there is a bright side to everything. GO PADRES!!

I knew the Cardinals would hold off the Astros. Their luck run out. The Cardinals have a tough task in the Padres. If the Redbirds win one game, I'll be surprised. it would have to be up to Carpenter to pitch a great game.
