September 10, 20179 yr I'm extremely happy how this game went. I just wished the Colonels could have pulled it. Looking back to the prediction thread and all the people saying EKU wasn't any good was kind of funny. Maybe the Colonels arent any good. We will see, but keep two things in mind. 1. This isnt the same EKU team as last year. I think there are only 12 hold overs from last season. EKU has played up in competition two games held their own both times. 2. As UK football fans, I dont think I would call any team bad. You're living in glass houses.
September 10, 20179 yr If the offense can't figure things out, they're going to be hurting after next week. Try for a seal the deal FG and it gets blocked. Fortunately EKU lined up in the NZ. Is it time for Barker? I don't thing a guy who is 10-3 in his career should be pulled necessarily......BUT is he holding Offense back? Sorry, but Barker's few snaps raised more concern than optimism for me. Was very glad to see starter back in.
September 10, 20179 yr If I'm not mistaken EKU's DT's that played were 1Sophmore, 1 redshirt freshman, and 2 true freshman.... I think EKU will be fine
September 10, 20179 yr Sorry, but Barker's few snaps raised more concern than optimism for me. Was very glad to see starter back in. If you think Barker should be the QB over Johnson after this you either know him personally, you're clueless, or well... I don't want to say it because I don't remember the board rules. The guy didn't just line up in the neural zone. He was in the backfield before the ball was snapped. Barker didn't show much his two series. I don't thing a guy who is 10-3 in his career should be pulled necessarily......BUT is he holding Offense back? Can't really take much from this on Barker. He has 2 series. He got sacked twice on pressure right away, and was 1 for 2 on passes. The two run plays got stuffed. So can't say one say or another on him in terms of how good or bad he is. The only thing that could be said is him coming in definitely didn't provide a spark. The offense looked bad with him too like it has all year. Johnson did end up making a few nice plays though as the game went on.
September 10, 20179 yr Johnson is 10-3 as a starter. There should never be a debate. In Kentucky terms, that's incredible.
September 10, 20179 yr Johnson is 10-3 as a starter. There should never be a debate. In Kentucky terms, that's incredible. The majority of the time in those wins it has been the defense and running game and not him. The one thing with him as qb is it makes the coaches stay committed to the run since they can't trust him to be a consistent enough passer. So yes there is reason to question is because if they can still run the ball as good but have someone who is more consistent as a passer. This offense would be even better. Now would Barker be more consistent no one knows, because as a coaching staff you can't really take that chance of making a change as long as you win no matter how ugly it is.

I don't care if the mascot caught a pass and ran it 95 yards for a touchdown...he's 10-3 and that's all that matters.
September 10, 20179 yr Easy Knights. It was all in question form. I personally don't believe a guy with a 9-3 record should lose his gig. I was just asking

He was 15-22 for 224 yards with 1 TD pass and ran for 48 yards and a TD. It is beyond my comprehension why some believe he should be replaced.:idunno:

September 10, 20179 yr Barker was a statue when he was in. The O-line is having some issues with the minor injuries moving people around. The QB has got to be pocket aware during this time. Johnson keeps his eyes up and moves around and at least steps up in the pocket. UK shouldn't have pulled Johnson at all IMO. I know it was planned, but I disagree. A win is a win though. Snell was a warrior today. I hope he can go next week vs SC.
September 10, 20179 yr Johnson sealed the deal as QB1 which hopefully has allowed Eddie Gran to trust him more and not use the Wildcat as much. EKU did a good with their quick game, which didn't allow UK to get much pressure. The biggest concern for me was UK's offensive line. I know they're still working out some kinks especially st the center position, but they should be able to run at will against an FCS team. The second half we better, but still cause for concern. 2-0 is great, and "style points" are irrelevant. Time to get ready for S. Carolina.
