Impressive start for the Xaverians

Good win for the Tigers, the Purples kept fighting and almost we're able to come back from a 21 point deficit. X's line on both sides ended up being too much for BG. BG did a good job of converting on 3rd down and finding ways to take advantage of their skill players on X's defense.

 

X is pretty good, but they're pretty predictable on both sides of the ball which will make it very difficult to knock off T.

 

BG will be fine. Injuries have hurt them, but the likely hood they'll play two teams like PRP and X in 5A is slim. So don't worry, the sky is not falling in BG.

 

Glad these two teams get the opportunity to play each other, you can tell there's respect for each other on both sides from admin all the way down.

Only 5A team I see competing with BG is Covington Catholic.

Always appreciate the X family. All class. You guys could have scored again but kept it classy. Its been many a moon that Purples have been 1-2 to start out year.

 

I know that Owensboro, South Warren, Christian County and most importantly Covington Catholic are licking their chops. We, the Purples, may be coming back to reality in this remarkable 6 or 7 year run but make no mistake about it, we're not quite ready to throw in the towel.

 

Purples will always go down swinging. 21-0 at the half and we more than held their own in second half. 5A teams and fans, be prepared. Its getting ready to get interesting.

I haven't been to a X-BG game, but I have to state that I have seen nothing but good sportsmanship shown on here between the schools. Don't know Wallace's beef with X.

There is no beef with X. Terrific relationship. As many have said here, much respect abound from coaches, players and fans.

I just think that it is important that we maintain a good relationship with the public schools, particularly out in the state. Several years ago, the Jefferson publics refused to play us in any sports because of an issue over scheduling. This was a decision from the top, not the schools. The public schools in the state were playing us so we could fill out a schedule in each sport. I think that we've always remembered that. I think we have a good relationship now with the Jefferson publics.
