JC has played 2 district games so far against BC and LC. For what good it will do I plan to come on JC off week to watch the Tomcats against Lawrence Co. At least get an idea of what the Tomcats have this year.

Just thought I would let everyone know that the same officiating crew that had the Ashland JC game last year has the game again this year.

Well, not exactly Sherman marching through Atlanta. I'd at least have left the Bluegrass Restaurant standing. Now that's a real loss...what a shame. Back to the game, please keep the smack coming. Its good for the rivalry, and good for BGP, and while I think you are blinded by the light, I totally understand the enthusiasm. Now, if you could wake up the rest of Winchester Avenue we could have some fun. :sleep:

Can any Paintsville fan clue us in as to why Paintsville hasn't agreed to play the Apple Bowl the next two years ? They've had the contract for a week but still no signature. RNC can you shed some light on this subject?

 

I can't answer the question. I'm sure it will be signed, but PHS has to pick up a few games next year because our contracts are up with Fairview, Betsy Layne, and maybe one other school. So, my GUESS ( and it is only a guess) is that we have to make sure everything is worked out district wise before we can sign any contracts. The realignment thing has everyone's schedule out of sync.

 

As for the game, I glad PHS didn't get shut out. Thats about all the positives I saw. That and the first play of the game LOL

I'll let you know, but since you knew the contract was sent to PHS a week ago and I didn't, you will probably have to let me know. LOL

Until I went to the game last night, I wanted to see it cancelled. If for no other reason, simply because the last 3 blowouts have sort of rendered the game meaningless. I left the game last night and woke up this morning with a different perspective. Many of these kids are best friends off the field, and although loyal to their coaches, schools, parents and selves, this is a different rivalry and a different age. These kids handle it alot better than parents with long memories of the bitterness, brawls, etc. The Paintsville folks were nice hosts last night, and other than enthusiasm (the "We're peppy, we're preppy, we're Paintsville. Jealous?" sign had to be the idea of one of the few remaining idiot parents...by the way, "you missed a pimple") there was a friendly rivalry in the stands and on the field. Nobody wanted to kill anyone, to wit, not a single injury on the field. So, as far as I'm concerned, leave it up to the kids whether to keep playing. After all, they're the ones knocking heads.
