Checking out the new CCH digs at the "Griff" Friday night. Drove by it yesterday and the graphic is up that wraps the back of the bleachers. The lettering is HUGE.

My point is you can't legislate that all games start at a set time when you have a doubleheader at the same site. That's why the KHSAA's "strong suggestion" doesn't really apply during the first couple weeks of the season, when bowl game DHs are being played.

 

My point is if it doesn't apply the first couple of weeks of the season I don't think it can apply at all.

Ryle - Cov Cath

 

I'm not sure how you pass this one up. I'm hoping for a good game. It's got some good story lines. You have Ryle who got pounded by Trinity last week but they were able to identify some major weaknesses and then you have Cov Cath who didn't play anyone that challenged them last week(IMO). Now, they're both getting tested from similar talent levels under the lights for the first time ever at CCH.

 

Questions to answer...

Can Cov Cath's line hang with Ryle's, and stop the Chiz?

Can Ryle's DB's stop the great AJ Mayer's passing attack?

Can Ryle's LB's stop the running attack that will open up from that passing?

Can Jake Smith handle the pressure at QB? He did pretty good in the 7-v-7's over the summer but disappeared in the Trinity game.

 

My opinion...If Ryle's DB's can step up and make some big plays and Jake Smith can make his reads and not get rattled then Ryle wins this one 28-21. If AJ passes all over them and Ryle's QB gets rattled Cov Cath runs away with it 42-14.

I will be at Marshall Stadium for my 327th consecutive Trinity varsity contest.

I'm headed to the King of the Bluegrass Bowl at Fairdale saturday night.

But, I'll be at the Bob Allen Pigskin Classic in Danville (if my small loan gets approved tomorrow).

I heard an out-of-state sports reporter saying today that "Week 0" stands as a very clear statement about the sad state of Kentucky's education system :lol2:

I wish they would have one week of scrimmages and every team in the state start on the same weekend with every team getting a week off prior to the playoffs, like God intended it.

I think covcath wins big! There scrimmage with that weak opponent you said did more for that weak opponent than covcath. Covcath will dominate this game even though Ryle has a good oline covcath has to many dogs...

 

But I will be at Scott watching that game.
