I've heard great things about the one you all have down in Corbin, but you havent seen Mercer's I take it?!! If the outside of it (the front part facing the field) was brick, it would look just like UL's at Papa Johns.

*weight room is the entire length of the turf and 10-15 yds wide, with 10 of the new platforms that you can do bench, power clean and squats, all in one in..with the MERCER logo scribed into the wood of each platform

I have heard this about Mercer's, just haven't seen it. I have been in Corbin's however.

But yes, you are correct. It is absolutely one of the best gameday atmosphere's in the state, it has a college feel to it. The field is bermuda and almost perfect, although there are talks of installing field turf. As you walk in, everything sits below you and the seating is horeshoe shaped. The entire stadium is concrete with metal and wooden bleachers on top of the concrete, also adding to the college stadium feel. A lot of small colleges would love to have a place like Putnam to call home. Now that I've posted this I think I'll call Vegas and get the over/under on how long it will take for the negative comments to start rolling in.

For older stadiums I really like Russellvilles. Those pictures are nice but really don't do it justice. It just looks like a classic.

I love seeing pictures of all these nice stadiums. Folks, if you ever get a chance go and see Russellville's stadium, it is great.

I remember Coach Hammons former HC or Mercer talking about this, but wow, Marty Jaggers is the man with the equipment and players to be successful for many years to come.

Did Mercer already use this indoor facility or did they just build it?

 

I thought they were building a new campus so I am thinking this was already there, but I had never heard anything of them having an indoor facility until this year.

What about Letcher County Central High School's field? I heard they have an awesome field with a Jumbo-tron w/ instant replay, reserved backed seating, and microphoned refs?...anybody got pics of that one...sounds awesome...would love to see it...or at least the photos for now...

More upgrades recently at Manual Stadium, there has been some landscaping work around the Commemorative brick section especially in the center where the War Memorial is, and just this week they took out the old red wooden gates on all the Burnett St entrances and replaced them with really nice black metal gates with big block M's featured on each, the big one on the drive entrance is really nice. I wish I had thought to snap a few pictures of it tonight.

The Mike Holcomb Athletic Complex in Jackson is a nice stadium. I beleive that it will hold about 2500 give or take a couple hundred. For a 2A school this place is awsome. Belfry also has a very very nice stadium. Trinity has one of the nicest anywhere in the country. All of these are nice stadiums.

I am stunned that ANYONE would like the facilities at Highlands. (with the exception of between the lines) I would rather watch a game there than anywhere else because the bleachers are so close to the field. click on the satellite button at the top right hand corner of the map and zoom to your hearts content. The middle school is at the top of the field...the high school to the left, practice field at the bottom (death valley) and woods on the right. Very tight!

I really like the stadium of champions in Hopkinsville. Back in the day I played pee wee football on it a good bit. I can't say its the best tho, because I haven't seen Trinity's facilities in person. A picture just doesn't do it for me, I have to see the actual thing to decide which one is better. From what I hear Trinity's stadium sounds a bit nice. Has anyone been to both of them, and if so what do you think.
