September 27, 200619 yr RP I think you are over the top on this. Just because you don't want anyone to know that you own a TO jersey. I bet that Deion is praying for him. If Deion can be concerned why can't you? In the voice of Elmer Fudd you are dissssspiccccable.
September 27, 200619 yr Ok even if he did try to commit suicide or not, there would have to be some kind of press conference to explain things. TO has been a guy in the past who would do anything to be in the spotlight, but I dont think a guy would do this just to get attention. Do you ever think that maybe he might be getting tired of all this attention. Every little thing he does, people are talking about it now. This has been going on now for the past couple of years. Yeah at first he had alot to do with getting the attention to him self, but now it doesn't matter what he does there are always people questioning it. They have said on ESPN that some of his friends have said that he goes through mood swings really quick. They also talked about how in Philly and San Fran the teams thought that he could maybe have something that is wrong with him physically and wanted to have him do some test which he refused to take. So this suicide attempt could have been actually real because he does have problems that people have talked about. So you getting on here and saying stuff like this is completely wrong. Even if it ends up being some sort of a thing just to get attention, even though I dont think it is. But if its still you shouldn't be saying stuff like this when it comes to something as serious as a persons life until you know for sure.... First the circus was created by Owens. Remember he had the media come by his house to watch him do sit ups.
September 27, 200619 yr I love how the media takes a story and completely runs with it. All of this stuff on this latest story is speculation. Just because ESPN is reporting it, doesn't mean it is fact right now. I am really getting sick of everytime I turn on the TV, there is a TO story on. I think he has officially taken over "the most talked about thing on TV" award from steroids in baseball.
September 27, 200619 yr First of all let me say that there is no doubt that depression affects a lot of people for various reasons, but trust me when I say there is also no doubt that there are a lot of people that pull stunts like this for attention seeking purposes only. I see it every day of the week.
September 27, 200619 yr I spoke to my medical advisor and he said that if this were an attempted suicide that there is no way that Owens would have been released due to liability. Only a judge could have gotten him released. That's so not true.
September 27, 200619 yr That's so not true. There is a whole lot of truth to it. If a doctor believes that a patient is truly a risk to himself, or anyone else, they can and will make a patient a 72 hour hold before he is cleared by a Psych. Doctor. A doctor can certainly be found negligent and be held liable if he were to release a patient who is suicidal.

That's a fact, your "medical advisor" is giving an educated opinion.
September 27, 200619 yr Let's see if I can catch up, We've diagnosed him with clinical depression(there is a difference) and deduced he has attempted suicide. We've since come to the conclusion that he now has only had an allergic reaction. We've apologized and retracted and all of this before his press conference. Frankly, I was impressed that T.O. had been so quiet thus far. Well,,,,,that's all out the window. Congratulations Jerry, you're the proud new owner of the spawn of Barnum and Bailey. How 'Bout Them Cowboys!!!! If the Tuna doesn't stroke out before the season ends, surely he'll hang up the old whistle now! Bill, welcome to your life! with regards to a release from a hospital under the suspicion of attempted suicide, rest assured in today's letigious society, he'd still be in the hospital if it were the case! Nothing like the medical staff here at BGP!:thumb:

September 27, 200619 yr Whether you like or dislike TO you have to be concerned for him as a human being. Having a reaction to meds is a very common occurance as is a suicide attempt. If he had an allergic reaction to medication then a big thumbs up to the person who made the call to 911 and felt enough compassion for another person to seek help. If he indeed attempted suicide I pray for him that he gets the help he needs.
September 27, 200619 yr Did you read my post about the girl who took pills, had her stomach pumped, and was released later the next day? That's a fact, your "medical advisor" is giving an educated opinion. My medical advisor is a trusted doctor. Plus common sense tells you that in the world of malpractices suits by the thousand that no doctor is going to set himself up for a huge suit. Bill Parcells hasn't even been in contact with Owens, what does that tell you. Obviously he is not nearly as concerned as you guys and Owens by most accounts is his best player.
September 27, 200619 yr BTW, I recall that Ken Griffey JR. was very depressed about 10+ years ago, and supposedly was thinking of running his car off a hill on 75 in NKY? or was that another pro athlete? I know that JR. did suffer from depression at one point though. Im pretty sure that was Deon Sanders.
