Terrell Owens' possible suicide attempt

Featured Replies

He may very well be depressed but having depression is an entirely diffent manner.

If you are depressed for long enough, depression will set in. Don't you think it's possible that all the "me, me, me" was really a confidence boost for his fragile ego? He wants to be the best and has always been extreme about it. Everything he's done up until this point could have been a front.

"The fact that it has been reported a suicide attempt, he's laughed at that notion. It was a case that medication that was taken wasn't accepted well in his system with the other vitamins he's on," Sanders said.

Sounds like he's protecting the TO image. If he took 35 pills he was trying to kill himself. If he took 4 or 5 he has drug problem. If he took 1 or 2 and had a bad reaction.............then I'll never post on BGP again!!!

Is anyone watching the press conference or listen or something???

TO will be speaking on ESPN @ 3:15

It will be on ESPN @ 1:30

O I thought someone said 1. Dang it will be in a meeting. Someone give a full report for me to read when I get back.:D

It is sad how quick some are to rush judgement in situations like this...

Dan Le Batard of ESPN said he wants to hear from TO about the situation because "he will tell you the truth".

Yes it is. But that's the world we live in. Guilty until proven innocent.

Press confrence pushed back to 3:15 at Valley Ranch...

Who knows what really happened? However, now Owens is the center of attention and I'm sure that is pleasing to him. He obviously, like many in Hollywood and Washington, needs that "spotlight" regardless of whether it is negative or positive. Of course, we live in a time when everyone is painted as a victim of something. Lots of rights. Little responsibility. TO is merely another poster boy for those who overdue their "compassion".

Guilty of what, he is guilty of being a human, that is all.

NO matter if he attempted suicide, his PR people and the Cowboys PR people will cover this up and downplay the situation, only way we will ever know is if TO talks to Bob Costas or Barbara Walters in a prime time interview.

I believe there are lots of studies that show athletes are more prone to bi-polar and depression

SAD, sad about TO., who I really don't like anyway, But he is a human being! And sad that people view this only as something for attention! Depression and suicide are serious problems, and shouldn't be taken lightly. Hopefully he gets the right help for this and recovers.

BTW, I recall that Ken Griffey JR. was very depressed about 10+ years ago, and supposedly was thinking of running his car off a hill on 75 in NKY? or was that another pro athlete? I know that JR. did suffer from depression at one point though.

You're pretty out of line I think RP.

I agree.....
