September 27, 200619 yr Everyone on this board seems to believe the Owens has depression. The only thing remotely close to that is him telling a friend he was depressed which is much different than having depression. If he had depression and was a danger to himself I don't think the hospital would release him this quickly. The police said there was no crime committed. The hospital has no say whAtsoever in how long he stays there.
September 27, 200619 yr I hate T.O. as a football player as much as anyone else , but the jokes are not funny. This is serious stuff here. I really feel sorry for the guy and I wish nothing but the best for him. I do not want to see someone go through things like this. I agree. :thumb: There is obviously something wrong emotionally to be sooo arrogant/conceited/confident and then take 35 painkillers. That's not an "attention grabber".
September 27, 200619 yr IF this turns out to be another publicity stunt by T.O. I will make a public bgp apology to rickyp. As of now, NO ONE, especially here on bgp knows what really went on and you have to treat this as a very sick and disturbed individual who may be crying out for help. A lot of attempted suicide's if not all of them are just that. I am not all of a sudden defending all of T.O.'s antics on or around the game of football. I still can't stand that part about him. All I am saying is that how can anyone on here say that it was not the attempted suicide that was reported at this time? Were they in the room with him??..I don't think so!
September 27, 200619 yr ??? Are you suprissed that he is having a press conference. The spotlight is on and guess who is in the middle of it?
September 27, 200619 yr Depression is a serious thing, has nothing to do with attention, but more a chemical imbalence, for those who've never suffered it, you won't understand it, everything can be good in your life and your still not happy and no matter what you do, you stay that way. I hope he gets some help :thumb:
September 27, 200619 yr Are you suprissed that he is having a press conference. The spotlight is on and guess who is in the middle of it? Ok...I didnt know what you meant by your statement.
September 27, 200619 yr I agree with you 110% Rocket. I don't like T.O. either but he is a human and hope he find the help he needs. Watching someone go through depression is HORRIBLE! :thumb: :thumb:

September 27, 200619 yr So Owens does have depression? He took 35 painkillers last night.........35 advil can kill you. Sounds like he's depressed. I think he gets all the attention he needs.
September 27, 200619 yr The police said there was no crime committed. The hospital has no say whAtsoever in how long he stays there. I thought that they were required to keep someone for an evaluation if it is a suicide attempt.
September 27, 200619 yr He took 35 painkillers last night.........35 advil can kill you. Sounds like he's depressed. I think he gets all the attention he needs. He may very well be depressed but having depression is an entirely diffent manner.
September 27, 200619 yr I recently had a friend take a bottle of pills and she was released the next day.
September 27, 200619 yr I thought that they were required to keep someone for an evaluation if it is a suicide attempt. In Texas attempted suicide is not breaking the law. I'm sure it goes by state. Maybe in Texas that's not a law.
September 27, 200619 yr It is not a crime in Texas for a person to attempt suicide. "This is a high-profile person. We looked into it and we determined it is not a criminal offense," Watson said. "This a medical type of situation that occurred." NFL Network analyst Deion Sanders said he spoke with Owens shortly before his release from the hospital and that Owens was in good spirits. "The fact that it has been reported a suicide attempt, he's laughed at that notion. It was a case that medication that was taken wasn't accepted well in his system with the other vitamins he's on," Sanders said. From ESPN
