June 7, 20179 yr Anyone that knows me knows I am a bleeding heart liberal as far as the environment goes. Having said that real, not symbolic, political actions are needed. Whether man can stop global warming is not known. However, cleaning up our environment makes common sense. However, the Paris Treaty did not. It was a load of bull to make people feel like something was being done...and many of them the wrong things. At least 1/4 of the carbon put into the atmosphere is the result of deforestation which was even ignored by the treaty until 2015. Much of the deforestation is to establish palm oil plants. Who uses it- Indonesia, China and EU27. So the groups crying about the US pullout are the worst offenders. Also, deforestation targets if 2030 are voluntary, and what will happen anyway....offenders will just work faster.

Brazil Amazon basin has gotten better the last few years. But a lot of CO2 loving tropical forest area was being destroyed annually down there.
