June 2, 20179 yr How? Be specific too. I've heard all of the general speculation already. Jobs, we save money, etc. How was it specifically a bad move for America? I mean, I'll be honest. I could care less about the planet once I'm gone. Once I am not here any longer my estate is split up and there is nothing I can offer this planet other than my memory. Fixing the ills of the planet will be on the millenials so you won't have to worry about hearing any save the planet, global warming, climate change rhetoric from me. At the same time, the science is plain as day. I can't take folks seriously who preach about protecting our future but have zero desire to fix the preventable problems that plague our planet. Everyone is different and I know my thoughts are normally isolated thoughts but they are my thoughts. Turning a blind eye to climate change and endangering future generations of our planet is analogous to being pro choice IMO. You can't walk around saying abortion is wrong but then let's not do anything to save the planet for the future generations after us. It's not okay to kill a 3 week old fetus but is okay to kill off generations of people that come after your time on the planet? Again, just my thoughts and I'm sure folks will tell me my analogy is stupid or whatever but that's my brain functioning and how I feel about it. Just the way it is. I think I and others have listed it ? So you have been given specifics. 1. 100 billion in investments 2. Around 30% in reduction of Fossil Fuels by 2025 3. China and India being labeled devolping nations so they do not have to meet the obligations of the West. All bad for us.
June 2, 20179 yr So you honestly think that just because they pull out of the Accord that they won't find something else to get into your wallet with? I'm sure you don't believe that just because we pulled out the Accord doesn't mean you'll see those dollars come back to you, do you? It means more dollars will stay with me. My brother who works for a Steel plant who threads pipes for fracking will continue working.

The way I read it the 100B was a combined effort of the 194 countries who agreed to sign the Accord. If true what is the dollar number America was on the line to invest? 100B from America alone? 2. How is that bad for America? A 30% reduction in fossil fuels by 2025. How specifically is that bad for America? 3. So with America and other countries at the table that know how much money China and India bring in I am thinking both countries would have been urged to make a fair investment. Now they really don't have to with us not at the table.

So will all of the many companies who wisely jumped on the clean energy rush when natural gas, solar and wind power took off. Pipe threaders will always be needed. If he has that skill then he'll likely be able to find work anywhere. Hell, sounds like he might be a class A mechanic if he can thread pipe. Is he not?

But Fracking is now expected a 400-500% increase next year. Also a 30% reduction is bad on our costs as individuals and jobs. If there is renewable energy that is as cheap as fossil fuels we would be doing it and I don't like the odds by 2025. Well there is one in Nuclear but many in favor of this accord do not like Nuclear either. The better question is how does this accord put money in my pocket, all I see is potential cost.

June 2, 20179 yr Would possibly lower temps 0.2 degrees over the next century, while America spends TRILLIONS of dollars and loses thousands of jobs and billions in GDP. All the while China spews out significantly more than we do, even if they were to drastically cut their pollution from current rates. It was simply a huge tax on America...nothing more, nothing less. Oh, and the average Americans energy/electric bill by most accounts would go up 20% (if not more). And for anyone thinking wind and solar can do anything other than put the very very slightest of dents in our energy needs, at least with current technology and any tech on the near horizon, then I'm not sure what else can be said. June 2, 20179 yr Folks should really understand that 'global tempratures' are largely and mostly driven by sun activity. Specificially solar flares that are driven by sunspots.
