If there is renewable energy that is as cheap as fossil fuels we would be doing it and I don't like the odds by 2025. Well there is one in Nuclear but many in favor of this accord do not like Nuclear either. The better question is how does this accord put money in my pocket, all I see is potential cost. The Accord wasn't designed to put money in your pocket. It was designed to gain a better understanding of how we are destroying our planet and doing all we can to make sure we slow down whatever destruction we are causing without hurting each countries economies in an overly damaging way. Because you know, some people actually do want to leave the planet in good shape for their future generations as opposed to just making as much money as possible at any cost.

But I also don't believe that we would have gotten much help from many of them before the Administration took over, if we needed them some day. But I don't know enough to really elaborate more.

Germany could have intelligence on Syria that could help us out in a matter and they could decide not to share it with us. Could be detrimental depending on what is in that intelligence.
June 2, 20179 yr I want to "fix" the planet and do what we can to counteract climate change, but not at the expense of my wallet. If becoming more environmentally friendly means it costs me more $, I'm going to be against it. An 80K Tesla isn't in the budget, or solar panels on your roof?

June 2, 20179 yr The US has been leading the world in reducing pollution over the past 50 years, without this agreement. I can remember when lakes caught fire, rivers were polluted, the air over cities like Cincinnati, Pittsburg and many others were a lot dirtier. Some may say there is more to do and we can attack that, because of what we have learned. As technogoly develops, we will make the environment cleaner. Not because of some agreement that places us a disadvantage when competing for business, but because we want to make the world a better place to live. And as far as global warming, climate change goes, I do not believe it is caused by man. Based on what science tells us is that the earth has gone through several cycles of warming and cooling before man even showed up. Even in the last several years there have been minor ups and downs. During the 1700's Londoner's had an ice festival on the Thames, the Thames does not have ice that thick these days and mankind is still here with that warming. 40 yrs ago Time had on its cover the forthcoming ice age and then several yrs later it cover was about global warming. The earth will be here and so will mankind for a long time to come.

June 2, 20179 yr Just heard on a podcast that the US has only contributed 1B to a promised 3B to help the poor under developed countries with climate change. The promised 3B had hopes of turning into 100B fund at some point but for now only 1B of a promised 3B had been contributed to the fund and no one is making anyone contribute to that fund so this myth of the US contributing 100B to the Paris Accord doesn't seem to be factual at this time. If I am wrong someone please correct me. Passing on info as I listen to this podcast.
