Its bad to say this, but I am just pleased UK didn't get totally embarrased on national television this time. I honestly think the only thing our last 3 games has done is prove how good UofL really is, or was.

I'll be back on this one but the CATS had a good showing, just got beat by a better team. The Floriday defensive line won this game IMO!

#16 is Wesley Woodyard. He's an outstanding linebackers, and only a sophomore.

 

As for the defense, why did they fall back into prevent at the end of the first half? They had been playing extremely well on defense prior to that. I think that drive gave Florida a great deal of confidence and sent Kentucky into the half reeling a bit. That was the "make or break" play of the game. I don't think Kentucky would have won, but that did little to help the upset bid.

I think that Woodyard is a Junior. You are correct though he is an outstanding LB. The prevent was ugly but I think lost the game at the o-line. Florida was in Woodson's face all night. He had to throw the short routes because the WR didn't have time to get open deep because of the pass rush.

Florida killed our Offensive Line in the second half. The boys looked good in the first half but they didnt show the intensity the second half.

Personally, I think that is a little too cute. But whatever.

 

For what its worth, Louisville still ran the ball at will after Bush went down, and Brohm will be back sooner rather than later. So that team that was really good still is and will be.

 

And before the hate starts, I cheered UK in this game and was only negative about the same thing any UK fan was negative on, the O-Line. And I didn't bring Louisville into this.

Much closer than i thought it would be.

The O-line couldn't block my local 5th and 6th grade team.

I wonder if the NCAA will take action on these refs for not reviewing the call, or if it was reviewed for not making the correct call? IMO, there should be action taken and hopefully the NCAA will see this game and discuss it directly after and take immediate action on these amatuer refs! I really felt bad for UK because they had played very hard up to that point and to have the refs constantly make inaccurate calls against them was just unfair.

I've been as hard on UK football as anyone, however I really enjoyed watching the game tonight. UK played their hearts out against a team with superior talent. I was impressed with how the offense moved the ball in the first half. The O and D lines appeared to wear down a little in the 2nd half and UF pulled away. Maybe there is a little blue sky hiding behind all those rain clouds after all.

This game was closer then it seemed. UK played pretty well against a better team.

That is a bizarre statement. He was very impressive with his ability to run the football. It is said, however, that his arm still needs much improving. I'm not saying he will never win a Heisman because I think he will definitely be in the running for it in the future. There have just been better athletes than him at the QB position and not won (i.e. Brad Smith - Missouri, Michael Bishop - Kansas St.).

 

I believe our skill positions can compete with Florida's, but our offensive line is way behind. It looks to me as if the focus on recruiting needs to be the hog-mollies up front.

I certainly am not one to make excuses for a loss, but I personally wonder how the game would've turned out had the clock stopped with 1 second left in the first half as opposed to running out. I can't say that UK would've scored a touchdown, but in the back of my mind it will always be a possibility.

 

I don't know how that rule works though... Does it take 2 seconds to spike the ball? I mean... I know there's the rule in the NBA that .4 is the least amount of time needed to take a shot, and anything less has to be a tip-in.. But is that a rule in college football, or just a bad decision by the refs?
