Free Movie Channel Weekend

Featured Replies

Did anyone see movies this weekend that make you want to order HBO or Cinemax? I didn't see anything in the times I checked what was on that made me want to watch, let alone pay extra to have access.

I didn't see anything that would make me want to purchase those movie channels. I'll stick with movies on my cable package that are part of their regular priced plan. I also have Netflix which I watch a lot of movies and documentaries.

I have them for TV series, stand-ups, and documentaries. Rarely watch any non-documentary on them.

I recorded a few movies – it would be fun to have these channels for free, but definitely not interested in purchasing the package.

Super excited about Slumdog Millionaire because I’ve always wanted to watch it. Also recorded Suicide Squad & Pearl Harbor.

I have Spectrum too - sucked they did not do the free movie weekend as TWC has done in the past. I also wanted to pass something along that those of you who now have Spectrum may not have realized. I called them when my bill went up last month to see what options there were to keep the price the same. they told me that Time Warner pricing went up and that is why I was seeing an increase, but they would check Spectrum pricing. They came back and said I could keep the same service, switch out my modem, get a five time increase in internet speed, and the bill would only increase like 5 bucks a month. So, I said wait I thought I had Spectrum and not TWC any more. They said correct, but the company is maintaining separate pricing strategies for those old TWC customers, and not forcing them over to the Spectrum pricing. So, lesson is, ask for BOTH price plans if you are an old TWC customer now with Spectrum. My dad did the same, and since he does not use internet, he reduced his bill by $30 a month.

I had the exact opposite experience. Service agent told me I was grandfathered in on my TWC package but if i wanted to change anything I had to go to spectrum pricing and it was higher.

Heck, no.

I did watch a couple of Jason Statham movies; nothing else.

I have not called Spectrum to see about this, but with TWC, they told me it would cost more to get rid of the movie stations since it was part of the deal when I signed up. My bill was going to go up $7.00 and I'd lose the movie channels.

Caught a movie called The Music Never Stopped on Sunday morning with Mr. Cat that made us both end up crying like babies. Damn you free movie weekend!

Haven't seen the movie but it was a great Grateful Dead song.

We just got switched over to Spectrum. Cutting the cord on cable tomorrow. Can get all of the same content thru Hulu and SlingTv. Saving a lot of money.

what will you stream with? Roku, fire stick, Apple TV ?

I have Showtime, HBO and Starz through a promotion. With that said I would bet that 80% or more of what I watch from those 3 channels are Original series from those networks, not the movies they put on.

Watched Minority Report last night, which I had recorded. I enjoy that movie. Hadn't seen it in quite some time.
