I did half way consider a camo groom cake though. Decided I didn't care enough about having a groom cake to pay for it.

No, only because like others have said I don't own a single piece of camo clothing. I'm not a hunter. However, being in the middle of planning a wedding currently, I can say that you have to make sure to do what YOU want for YOUR wedding. It's not your parents' or friends' or anyone else's wedding and it can sometimes be easy to lose sight of that. For that reason, I'd say go for it if that's something your into.

I think it's a new fad. I've been to 2 weddings where the groom had a custom cake.

Absolutely. Mrs. S had a heck of a time getting me to wear clothes at all. I wanted our wedding to be at Paradise Lakes, but the future better half was having no part of it.

 

I have all kinds of camo gear. Mrs. S does, too.

 

The camo fedora is must when venturing out in the urban jungle.

Why would the attire make any difference in divorce rates? If he is wearing camo, chances are pretty high that she approved it and if she also has something on that's camo then they are probably pretty simpatico.

Nahh, it's not a fad. I didn't have one at my wedding, but most of the weddings in my extended family have had one as far back as I remember.

 

Googled it...Wikipedia had an article on them (of course) and said groom's cakes go back to Victorian England.

One of the best cakes I have ever had, bar none, was a chocolate grooms cake with strawberries at a buddies wedding several years ago. Absolutely delicious.

I don't eat cake, well I only eat chocolate cake with chocolate icing. When it came time to pick the flavors for our wedding cake, my request for one of the tiers to be chocolate on chocolate were denied. So I just figured I wouldn't be eating any cake.

 

We get to the reception and my wife (unbeknownst to me) had had them make me a sports themed grooms cake with chocolate on chocolate.

That's true love right there!

Never heard of a grooms cake either and I'm 34. I would've loved my wife to wear a sun dress and cowboy boots wouldn't of been able to wait until the hotel room that night. Camo isn't my thing but plenty of country boys wear it at work (hats, shirts, sweatshirts, etc), so I'd say if she's cool with it, she's a keeper.
