I'm curious. Have you ever plumbed, or at least seen a home/your home plumbed? Just curious if you have.

Self reliance control is nat geo?

Self Reliance may not be Nat Geo, but the video is made by Nat Geo, not self reliance.

Yes I have helped plumbing and seen it. I can see older houses with older plumbing and septic systems having this happen.

When I saw the heading to the thread, I really thought it was a leftover from the political forum.

This actually happened to my sister-in-law. She got up in the middle of the night and heard some odd noises after she sat down. It scared the "you know what" out of her. She stood up, and there was a rat swimming around. She was told that the city flushed out the sewers and it could have forced the rat up into the plumbing. Personally, I know nothing about plumbing, but that is the story. It was a much older hous if that makes a difference.

I also know a guy who sat down, experinced a "flapping sessation" and found a bat in there. Obviously, the bat was in the house unknown to him and chose his toilet to "hang around".

This is one of my worst nightmares. I check every time I go to the bathroom.

My grandpa told a story about when he was a young man and just married they had an outhouse. He said he always suffered from a mild form of constipation. On that morning when he sat down in the outhouse to do his business something flapped up against his butt and made a shrieking sound. It was one of his roosters and needless to say it was the best laxative he'd ever had.

But Gramps was known to tell a few tall ones for laughs and this was probably one of them.

I have seen some pretty scary stories where snakes come up the toilet.

This wasn't scary: A few years ago I walked into our downstairs rec. room and I could see the toilet in the adjoining bathroom I saw this dark blob against the side of the toilet from a distance, and I first thought mini-doomer2 or one of his friends had left a present of some kind..so I was getting prepared to be disgusted. I walk into the bathroom, and I realize it is a big toad frog clinging to the side of the bowl. One of my labs will catch a frog and carry it around in her mouth....she decided to taste the high quality h2o of the toilet and just left the frog there. I realized this because she is likely to do the same thing with the many balls I find in her water dish. The frog was completely unhurt and returned to its native habitat.
