If you're coming from the AA and turning left onto 27, here's a bit of advice if it looks like the traffic is heavy turning left into campus. Get in the right lane, turn right at the BP, then cross there.

 

Or you could turn left onto Martha Layne Collins OR Johns Hill Road to bypass the main entrance and head in the back way. These roads will also get you to Skyline faster. :thumb:

That's the way I always came in the past during my days living in CVG, and I'd say that's how I'll do it this time.

I enjoyed my trip to BB&T last year. Clean, spacious, reasonable parking cost and walking distance.

Was driving in the Highland Heights area today and was just like any other. Could not tell a state basketball tournament was being played. But maybe they want/like it this way. :idunno:

If you can't tell NKU just won the Horizon, then you're not going to be able to tell a high school tournament is going on. I can't believe there isn't a sign for either by the main entrance into campus off 27.

For the various folks traveling to Highland Heights to attend the Girls Sweet 16, if Hwy 27 and its surroundings is the only area that you see during your whole visit you will disappointingly get the impression that Northern Kentucky is a clean yet cold and generic yawner of place with zero personality or character.

 

Though the area serves its purpose well there really is no there there. No city charm with interesting historical architecture. No feeling of a town worth perusing through. In the grand scheme of things it all relatively a new suburbanish area on the outskirts that sits on a hillside away from the centralized historically rich cities closer to either side of the Ohio River.

 

If you find the time and opportunity, do yourself a big favor and tour yourself away from the NKU campus to the many various offerings that the real city life has to offer so that you really get the feeling that you took a more accurate and hearty enriching bite full out of the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati area.

 

There really is much to see and do here, and while there's no doubt that 15 games at the arena will wonderfully and excitingly consume much of your stay here, don't miss the opportunity to take the leap and venture off in search of what else you can take back home in your memory banks to allow yourself to really feel like you've been somewhere.

Good post, sums it all up. The Sweet 16 also gets the bad timing award with NKU getting their first ever big dance invite, plus UC, Xavier, UK, Dayton, Lville all in Conf tourneys. I wouldn't expect an abundance of local interest - or crowds.
