1 of 2 things is going to happen in the next 12 days.

 

1) Bracken County is going to win the Region with a record of 19-14 and all of PBN is going to celebrate and say "I told you so."

 

2) Bracken County is going to lose in Quarters, Semi-Finals or Finals (& barely have a winning record) and PBN is going to make 1,000 excuses of why they lost.

 

You forgot #3.

 

3) They win the State Championship and the Devils home freezes over.

We actually have monthly meetings. Sit together and dissect every post, just because we're so bored. Poor bracken county, the worst thing ever. Maybe someday they'll live up to the beauty and majesty of mason county.

Mason County is in the middle of the 10th in terms of enrollment in the 10th, but much larger than Bracken County. I've got a BUNCH of friends over there, and it's fair to say that while there is a whole lot of civic pride, there's the big blue shadow of Mason County next door. The big school, the big gym, the stores and restaurants, etc. Fair or not, some view BC as MC's redheaded stepchild. Some from both counties.

 

I've got buddies who have told me that they attend games at the Fieldhouse just in hopes of seeing the Royals lose. Sometimes they do, but not to Bracken in a long time and it's a bitter pill to swallow. This was their time, and it just didn't happen. polarbear98 - a friend who pretty much lives and dies with Bracken County basketball - said it best a couple of posts ago.

 

Look back on this season - when it's finally over - and remember the many highlights. A kid with 3,000/1,000. A huge win over the prohibitive regional favorite. The careers of several seniors.

PLUS, you don't see as many posters for Mason County (or many other schools for that matter) being so braggadocious when it comes to their teams, game after game, and all of the posts building a coach up, etc.

This is what I'm saying. I'm 90% certain that the most braggadocious are not actually BC fans. I think they're outsiders... for what it's worth.

For the record. I think Jason is a fantastic coach. I'm glad he's leading the Polar Bears. If I had sons on High School I'd be glad for them to play for him, or Buddy. I think both are great.

Mason County only has two players on their team this year that played minutes last year, Dunnaway and Lofton. Biggs molded this team together after all the drama with Garrison quitting and still beat the best Bracken County team in 20+ years. We should be talking about how good of a coaching job this was by Biggs instead of making excuses for Hinson and the Polar Bears.

If Mason beating Bracken now qualifies as a good coaching job, then I'd say a team that has won 2 state championships in the last decade and a half should probably figure out a way to raise the bar.

I agree 100%. In a previous thread I noted that a "certain BGP poster" was way over the top in trumpeting Coach Hinson's accolades in such an absurd fashion that he had become disrespectful, offensive and was disserving the PBN and program. I, too, suspect strongly that the agenda is solely to create arguments about Coach Hinson in hopes of doing reputational damage. IMO Coach Hinson does a top notch job, and I wish him all the best in his career.

 

One other note....Coach Russell is the #1 10th Region Coach until someone else makes some serious upward and sustained progress. IMO the two likely challengers on the horizon are Coach Brooks at Paris (for the noted program movement from his taking over to where they now are); and Coach Cook at GRC (again from then to now....this first year has been stellar....but, next year will tell the tale).

Probably more of this than anything. I'd want to hope it's not true. But if so it make us all look like pompous "donkeys"

 

Like I said I know we BC fans can sometimes come off a little overbearing but there are several worse fan bases than BC. I guess sometimes our pride clouds our judgement but I'm ok with that too. :lol2:

Bracken County won the rebounding advantage 41-32 which is shocking to me.

Riehards had it 45-41 rebounds in favor of Mason. I cannot speak to the accuracy of either #. Just know there were virtually tons of missed FGs and missed FTs. Probably someone forgot to take the smaller shooting rims off.

It was intentional. The bad thing about this tech was Lofton and Crawford was doing it the whole game to each other. Crawford came down on a fast break layup and scored over lofton in the second quarter and lofton responded by putt a finger roll on Crawford. I believe the refs got tired of the jawing.

Vito's number 1 coach in the region has coached 13 years and has never been to the regional finals. Do your research!

He has an All A state championship ring and has great style of play that wins against anyone! @Mustang I'm sure you would agree.
