Hopefully you made that statement from post game disappointment. I have no dog in this fight, period. This is a CHEAP shot against a really good decent young man and his family who made the right choice for him personally. I know it was a anguishing decision because he is good friends with and is still a member of PBN. Discuss what could have or should have been done in last night's game. But keep an innocent hard working young man out of it.

If we're going to talk about guys who didn't stay with the team, there's another at Mason County - arguably the best player on the team. Coach Biggs managed to succeed last night with what he had.

Vito you guys have used excuses from sickness to refs to abandonment now. Maybe it's time for some self reflection for bracken.

1. I never said sickness lost them this game. 2. I never said refs lost them this game. 3. Hamilton could shoot, drive, pass, rebound, defend, handle the ball. It certainly would not have hurt!

Mason County is a lot better without him. He was only a distraction. They also had Ty Fox start playing halfway through the year, I think because a football injury.

1. I'm talking about your fan base and the excuses that's been used over the season, 2. Hamilton isn't the reason you lost this game he was a part of the team last year and bracken underachieved then as well, Hamilton made the best Choice for himself. they could of used jones and Cooper more then Hamilton who's not been on the team all year I just don't thing blaming him or saying he abandoned this team is fair. Maybe they should look at the program as a whole maybe it's the kids maybe it's the parents or not enough Community support I'm not sure but a team that's had all this hype since grade school should have won a very weak 39th in my eyes.

As a BC observer, I will say it's unfair to lump all BC fans in with MikeHoncho.

 

We're pretty sure he's not even an actual BC fan. Just a setup.

Ok this thread is veering off course. There was a basketball game last night that Bracken lost. They lost because of their own misques and not executing to their best potential. The refs did a decent job last night. They lest the kids play for the most part. Could they have called more fouls? Heck yes on both teams. It was a physical game, a good game. A game that Mason won with clutch free throw shooting down the stretch.

 

Bracken had several opportunities to get a lead and add to it but didn't convert. Had a chance to tie the game at the end when most ppl (myself included) though the game was all but over 45 seconds prior.

 

Was the T warranted? Not for me to decide or anyone else for that matter. Both sides did their fair amount of Jawing all night. It happens in big games like this. Try to get a psychological advantage. No different than a pitcher throwing inside to a batter every now and then. Or a linebacker with a little more umph behind a tackle here and there.

 

No need to bring up kids not on the team for either team. I'm sure both sides at some point or another this season have felt those voids and delt with them.

 

No denying it was a tough loss for the BC faithful. It sucked. I'm sure the boys are disappointed as we all are. But the fact remains that the season isn't over and we still have one guaranteed game left. Win and we will have another and so on. So with that said the focus for the team needs to be on that and not dwell on last nights shortcoming. Use it as motivation to come out next week and try and prove the naysayers wrong. As long as you leave it all on the floor they have nothing to hang their heads about.

 

As far as all the banter about coach I just don't get it. Jason is a friend of mine and I know how much passion HS has for the game and the kids he coaches. Yeah he gets animated with the refs but tell me a coach in this region that don't. He has had success at every school he's been at. He's coaching the younger kids instilling his strategies in them at an early age. Building a program from the bottom up. He is a great coach, has two COY plaques to show it.

 

I've been a member of BGP for 4 or 5 years now supporting my alma matter. I've come to find that there is a lot of "hate" for our little 1a school. Don't really understand why it is that way. We are a proud bunch over here maybe a little overbearing at times, but at the end of the day we all have our favorite team. What is it about Bracken Co that ppl loathe so much? Hell there are some alumni that are quick to bash. Yeah we go into every game thinking we can win. So what? That's is the attitude your suppose to have if you wanna be successful right?

 

Yeah excuses can be made by anyone on any team when you lose. give me a thread on here where the losing side didn't make one. From the refs to coaching strategy to this one was sick or that one just got back from football. We all do it. It just gets magnified when a BC poster does it.

Preach. THANK YOU. You're so right. Everyone sees except Bracken people. It's like they are in their own little bubble.

 

Montgomery loses 6-7 seniors last year and came in ranked pre-season #4 in Region. They start out 2-0 in 2016/2017 season then lose best 2 players (Canada & Jones) to injury. Then Jones quit and Canada came back and was never fully healthy and they end up with a 7 win team. Coach Daniel and MoCo fan base not publicly making excuses like Bracken people are. Just admit you got outcoached and beat fair and square!!

We actually have monthly meetings. Sit together and dissect every post, just because we're so bored. Poor bracken county, the worst thing ever. Maybe someday they'll live up to the beauty and majesty of mason county.

On my previous post I will go ahead and apologize for that remark. Just very frustrated right now as a Bracken County fan. I know what it is like to lose in a district finals when you haven't won in a long time. Bracken County has won 3 district championships in 30 years (1987, 1989, 1999) and last night they had their best chance in 18 years to win a championship for this community and make them be proud of these kids (even though they still are). And to see a kid not play his senior year, and who has played with these kids his entire life, who would have helped so much this year is just frustrating. He was the best multiple sport athlete in Bracken County since Sarah Sticklen. He could have got a scholarship for basketball, baseball, cross-country, and track; but in his best interest has decided to focus on running only.
