LOL I just asked my 12 year old son (an avid 10th Region fan) to name top 5 players in the region and without hesitation first player he said was "Dontaie Allen." He said Allen and Dunaway were the best 2 passers in the region. Allen is only guy in Region with a D1 offer so how can you say he isn't top 5??? -

It's comical really. -
Preach. THANK YOU. You're so right. Everyone sees except Bracken people. It's like they are in their own little bubble. Montgomery loses 6-7 seniors last year and came in ranked pre-season #4 in Region. They start out 2-0 in 2016/2017 season then lose best 2 players (Canada & Jones) to injury. Then Jones quit and Canada came back and was never fully healthy and they end up with a 7 win team. Coach Daniel and MoCo fan base not publicly making excuses like Bracken people are. Just admit you got outcoached and beat fair and square!!

Anybody that doesn't have Allen in their top 5 should be banned from this site. He leads the region in points and rebounds on an 18 win team. Your sports IQ is no longer respectable. -

1 of 2 things is going to happen in the next 12 days. 1) Bracken County is going to win the Region with a record of 19-14 and all of PBN is going to celebrate and say "I told you so." 2) Bracken County is going to lose in Quarters, Semi-Finals or Finals (& barely have a winning record) and PBN is going to make 1,000 excuses of why they lost.

But Steve Fromeyer sees a lot of 9th region officials being in Kenton County. Scott has 10th Region officials at home games but the Eagles have only played 7 region games all year before the district. Bracken has played 19 10th Region games this season (9 vs 38th District). Frankly should have been 21 LOL if they would have played Augusta twice. That decision hurts the kids and the $$$. Rivalry games are fun.

My point is Kinley Ruff is a good player and the best ball-handler on the team (probably) and a junior who should have started over one of the seniors. Coach Ray's game plan should have been get the ball in her hands, get it across half-court and not chuck up the first 3 they see. When a team has a disadvantage of talent like that you don't play as fast as possible. You try to slow down the pace. Losing by 20 is a lot better than losing by 45. Also, you want the ball in your best ball-handler's hands, not the girls who dribble with their heads down.

I live on the border of the 10th/11th Region (Harrison County/Scott County line near Leesburg off U.S. 62) so I see 10th/11th Region officials all the time. Does anyone get on the refs more than Jason Hinson (and never get T'd up)?? The way he was verbally abusing the one ref last night was shocking he didn't even get a warning. With that said, of your top 4 coaches the two you have listed at no. 1 and no. 4 have these 3 things in common... 1. Short/stocky coaches 2. Love to try to intimidate officials 3. Have never made it past Region Semi-Finals (and to my knowledge Hinson has only made Region Semi-Finals once in 2014 w/ Bach)

Really, it was kind of embarrassing for both Bracken teams last night. Bracken girls could barely dribble and get the ball across half-court. (Do they not work on ball-handling in practice?) They lost 77-32 and for some reason didn't start Ruff girl vs Mason Co pressure?? Should have had a better game plan. Get the ball across half-court and eat some clock and not get down by 45 points.... And Bracken boys supposed to have best team since 1999 and they get beat again by Mason in the district finals. Not to mention Crawford loses all composure in 4th quarter (in a tight game) and gets a technical. With his experience he should have known better than that. It was a pivotal part of the game too. Crawford was shaken up from it because he bricked his next free throw.

Mason County's defense won the game. Shots were altered in the paint by Perk (Jones was a no show all night...insteading of playing soft and fading away from basket, he should have played like senior man and went at Perk). When your second best player doesn't show up in the biggest game of your life it's hard to win. On the perimeter Mason County's stingy guards bothered everyone but Crawford. Bracken Co not a good 3 point shooting team so it's not surprising at all the 3's they missed. I thought Hinson shouldn't have tried stalling at the beginning of the second quarter. Too early for that. It disrupted their offensive flow and attacking game. Save that for later in the game when it's crunch time.

If someone says that Aric Russell is not a top 4 coach in the region they need to have their brain examined. In a world where we base everything off of wins and championships and he has 3 regional titles (1 at Newport, 2 at Campbell) and 1 class A title (Newport girls) and HE IS NOT IN YOUR TOP FOUR?!?! You have Hinson ahead of Russell and in 2 years at Bracken Hinson has a record of 31-26 and played a watered down schedule this year. This season Hinson played the 38th District (worst district in northern Kentucky) 9 times and they are 16-14. 2016/2017 Bracken Co Polar Bears have played a watered down schedule and they have a guy with 3,141 points and 1,000+ rebounds and are barely above .500. And you can't say Bullitt East was a top tier team because they got upset by a team in districts with 9 wins (J'Town). That Ashland trip was embarrasing dude...Aric Russell has never been beat that bad.
