Is anyone else worried about Monk? I really don't like the way he has been playing. No defense. No rebounding. Takes bad shots. He should be getting as much heat as anyone on UK. He was 3-11 and 1-5 on threes yesterday.

He had one down game shooting. No I am not worried about him. He just had like 8 rebounds two games ago. Would like to see that be more the norm. Defense is annoying.

Briscoe needs to stop and think, "Why have I always got the open 3 all the time but my teammates don't?"

Cal has told him not to hesitate shooting when he is open though.

Briscoe does a lot of good things that help UK to win, he often times tries to do more than he is capable of though. He needs to make better decisions on the offensive end.

UK looked much better early in the season than they do now. Obviously, UK has punched its ticket to the NCAA tournament, but the Cats are not playing on a level that matches their talent. They might be able to win the NIT the way that they are playing, but if they don't shape up they will make an early exit from the NCAA tournament.

I think UK is looking different from early in the season for two reasons:

(1) Their fast break points in 4 seconds offense was something that other teams adjusted to as the season progressed. Tennessee sent four players back on defense when they missed a shot on their offensive end when they played in Knoxville. No crashing the offensive boards. teams watch all of UK's games and they weren't going to allow Fox, Monk, and Briscoe to continue to push the ball at that pace. Now UK is having to adjust to the half court game and that;s not their guard;s game but they're going to have to learn it and adjust before the Big Show.

(2) Calipari is deliberately slowing down their pace and working more on a half court game because he knows that when they get to the NCAA tournament that play slows down dramatically from what it is during the season. It's just the way it is in a tension-filled one-and-done tournament.

UK looks like an NIT contender to me right now. I expected them to be an obvious top 5 team by this time of year, but they still have a lot of work to do. This team will be embarrassed in the NCAA tourney if their defense does not improve drastically.

That's a pretty absurd take.

Two narrow wins over a mediocre Georgia team, the most recent of which was against a Bulldogs team that played all but 2 minutes without its best player. Georgia is likely NIT-bound. UK has played them twice and struggled in both games. I stated the obvious. It is absurd that UK is playing so poorly at this stage of the season and with so much talent.

So they are an NIT team based off two Georgia games. Got it.

Focus, focus, focus. What I said is that they are playing like an NIT contender - not that they will be an NIT contender. They have struggled twice against a team that may actually be an NIT contender. Comprende?

I still don't get the concern with Monk's rebounding. Briscoe and Fox get about 10 per game from the guard position. There are only so many missed shots in a game. I can live with 22 ppg if he never grabs another rebound.

Now defense is a whole different issue.

That's a pretty absurd take.

Villanova beat DePaul 68-65 at home a few weeks ago. I watched the ending and they probably should have lost.

DePaul is like 8-19 now. Does that mean Villanova isn't a tournament team this season?

Kansas lost to Iowa State by 3, beat Kansas State by 3 and beat Texas Tech by 1. Should Bill Self be fired and the university do away with basketball now?

Awwww the dislike button is hot :thumb:

If you think UK is playing well right now, then I am happy that you enjoyed the recent games. My expectations for a team with so much talent is a bit higher. :thumb:

You need to rant and rave after the season instead of making ridiculous statements in February.

Stating an opinion is not ranting and raving. UK is playing like an NIT contender. Disagree if you want, but UK is not playing well right now, and there is nothing wrong with me stating the obvious. There is plenty of time left, but at this time, this team does not look anything like a Final Four contender.
