The 10th is way down. After the top team or 2, Elliott would hang with any squad within the 10th.

 

I'm a huge Paris fan, but you guys are making Elliott way worse than they really are.

 

Paris has really improved from the beginning of the season, but LCA will be a very difficult task. If paris can figure out how to compete against size, I think that would put them on even footing with Campbell Co.

Yes, I agree and believe that Elliott County would be one of the top five teams in Region 10 ... and I'm a huge Paris fan!

They have always said that about all mountain sports. Football hasn't done too bad recently. I agree to a sense but mountain sports aren't lacking in any sport IMO. Greenup just played for the baseball state championship and Shelby valley won a state basketball championship pretty recently. Sorry, I get tired of that mentality. Most of your statistical state leaders in basketball are from the 15-16th region. Timmy Daulton of Lawrence County is one of the top scorers in the country. Just saying

I don't want to get wrapped up in excuses and who is the better teams, region, etc. I have watched this team play many games over the course of the year. They didn't do what they can do, one of their top players averaging around 20 points a game had 2 points, horrible free throw shooting, with many mistakes as a team. They will be just fine and for some of these kids it was the first time in that environment. It showed last night the only 2 that have big game experience. Say what you want but Elliott will be right there come tournament time and who knows what they can do. Give credit to a good Paris team! They are a better ball club than some think. In regards to Timmy Daulton as a individual player stacking up against the all mighty Lexington, Louisville, Northern Region he would be just fine. That's all I am saying, don't cut players or teams short of talent just because of where they are from. Elliott alone made a state title run in the last decade and one call away from moving on to the finals. I agree on a year to year basis that bigger enrollments have better chances but it's always nice when they get humbled by a smaller school that can compete on their level. What makes our current system great!

Paris made Elliot look bad. Mountain teams have to get out of the mountains and face some tougher competition. No offense. But that record was fools gold. Elliot could be a good team but it's tough on kids to play that type of competition and then face off against athletic teams.

Now there's something we agree on.

Elliott County is a good team. Bad game or not Paris pressure has a lot to do with how this game turned out. Up 15 with minute and a half to go coach Brooks put the reserves in. Elliott country just not seasoned to play fast teams that can get scoring 1-8. This paris team the same team that controlled a road game at Lexington Catholic up 3 halfway through the third qrt when Eric Johnson goes down with ankle injury. Point is Paris is scary for anyone from here on out. Chemistry has played the biggest part in our run. #parispride

Well in the last 15+ years or so Paintsville has a state title was in the final v Ashland. Elliott made it to the semis one year. Rowan Co. a few years back lost in the finals to Christian Co. on a controversial call. Also Shelby Valley. Just to name a few.
