In fact, I personally know multiple people on BGP who are on the complete opposite spectrum of my beliefs politically and racially but yet we all get along great when we see each other. Still speak. Still genuinely concerned about one another and always nothing but positive vibes whenever I am around all of you that know me personally. As I mentioned in another thread there are 250+ union employees here at my plant and 200 of them supported Trump. If the nation was truly divided we wouldn't enjoy seeing each as we do and there is no way we would be able to work together without major issues. I guess we will agree to disagree but at the end of the day I'm not seeing nationwide strife in a manner that I would call divided. Very true. I mean, you like the Kardashians! I should totally dislike you but I don't! We just won't be keeping up with them together any time soon!

January 24, 20179 yr Not exactly what this thread is about but since the topic is about California I'll share it. I read an article today, when I was googling around, that Califirnia has more registered voters (almost 19 million) than the entire population in 46 of the states. That's what skewed the popular vote totals in the November election. Obviously not all 19 million voted, but the Democrats outnumber the Republicans 2-1 in the state. Only around 20% of the Republicans voted because most of them realized that their vote didn't matter, Clinton was going to win the state regardless. However, the Democrats came out and voted in large percentages. So, due to the enormous population of California compared to other states (39 million) California delivers a huge advantage in popular vote to the Democratic candidate. Add the fact that the Republicans put very little money or effort into the state to generate more votes and the result is a lopsided difference. Also, according to the article, if there had not been an electoral college system in place but instead a popular vote, Trump would have actually run much better in California because more Republicans (and Independents for Trump) would have made the effort to have voted. The article said he would have just as likely won the presidency in a popular vote as an electoral college due to the fact the dynamics of the campaign strategy would have changed. I just thought this was an interesting take because there has been so much talk about Clinton winning the popular vote. The Republican base not getting out to vote in California, and possibly the other Pacific coast states, is certainly a possible reason for the discrepancy. A popular vote election would actually have increased the Republican vote. Wouldn't that be the same but reversed on many of the other 49? In Kentucky I. Let's but I knew what the outcome would be. Many didn't though

January 24, 20179 yr I will say this once. I never once said I was divided. I have been watching the protests and not just on CNN or some MSM channel. I watched these past protests on Livestream and Periscope. I based what I said off what I saw and what was said by the protesters. Nothing more or less. been watching this stuff for several years now for myself, not whats reported but whats being done and said. I consider you a friend. Just because I say the country is divided that does not affect what I think of you, unless you do something to make me change my mind. I will never base what I think of you off your political beliefs alone. I am one who is a "Show me person" for each individual. The protests I have been watching with raw video shows me all I need to see. By that definition the country has been divided since its inception so in that case you are correct. We are divided.
