I think the next time Urban Meyer host another National Championship trophy he is wearing Fighting Irish colors. Dabo is a smart dude and has made a national title contender of his own in Clemson and is a legend there. He is smart enough to know not to follow the legend in Saban, because no matter what he would do at Bama it wouldn't be as good as Saban. If he ever goes back to Bama it would be after the coach that follows Saban.

You go back to your Alma Mater to save it, not to be the guy to follow a legend. When you are already at a program that can win titles, and I bet Clemson makes him a top 5 paid Coach soon. If it happens it would be like Roy Williams in college basketball. He was at a great program like Kansas. He didn't go back after Dean Smith. It took him 2 other coaches after Dean Smith and UNC being down for him to go back. If he goes back he will go back after the guy who follows Saban fails.

However after a few horrible years, Calipari comes here and gets UK back on top and now is his own legend. Moral of the story you don't follow a legend. Which in that case Bama may not want him anymore anyways then. I guess when Notre Dame comes calling in a year, Urban Meyer would leave what he has built back up at OSU to go to his dream school at Notre Dame then too.

January 10, 20179 yr Jumbo followed a legend. Has worked out well so far. Of course, there was a prolonged down period under said legend, so perhaps that tempers it. Your last sentence says it all. It was a down period for awhile under Bowden and I think even fans were ready for a change. So while he was a legend, it wasn't as hard to replace him since that legend wasn't doing so well anymore.

Agreed to disagree. If Dabo is good enough to where Bama would spend anything for him, then chances are Clemson is still in the title picture every year with him. So once again, he would have no reason to leave. If he follows Saban and is not in the playoffs and or title game almost every year, then Bama fans would be all over him. While he can win titles at Clemson and never be questioned, and wait 10 years from now to follow the guy who followed Saban.
January 10, 20179 yr Greatest college football game probably of all time. It's definitely one of them, couldn't go wrong with this one or the game between Texas and USC.
