Dan Patrick made an interesting comment today. He said on that last play Alabama should have just grabbed the Clemson receivers and made sure they couldn't catch a pass. That would have run time off the clock and forced Clemson to choose to either kick the field goal for the tie or go for broke and try to score a TD.

That was my thought from the beginning. Pride goeth before a fall.

Watching College Football Live this afternoon it was brought up that the Bo Scarbrough injury can't really be used as an excuse because the National Championship game that started this whole Bama thing was won against a team that lost their starting QB to injury during the game. Maybe Bama would have won, maybe not. But we'll never know just like we'll never know if Colt McCoy would have led Texas to victory.
