Eating Out 2017

Featured Replies

Ate tonight at BB2 in Cleveland. I had the cod fish and fries. I swear they have the best fries I have eaten. They have a special seasoning they toss them in. Got the order to go and fries where in a sepetate box and it was loaded. I couldn't eat them all. Recommend this place if you are ever in Cleveland.

In/out Burger is my favorite fast food burger.

Had a big night last night. It seemed like a great idea for lunch and it was.

Went back to Purple Poulet in Dayton KY and had another great experience. Mrs. C1 and i stuck to one drink a piece and a few apps and cut our price from the anniversary dinner in half.

Amazing how that happens...:lol2: We haven't had a bad dish or drink yet. Make a reservation and prepare for a really good dining experience!

PS...we eat our fair share of grilled cheese and soup meals to afford a trip here once a month! :lol2:

Cracker Barrel in Shelbyville. Baked chicken, dressing and a side Monday lunch special. $5.99 plus tax and tip.

Have not had a meal at home in 2 weeks. Thought tonight would be my first one. Nope! But good news is we are going to a neighbors house for a home cooked meal. Started doing this every few months when the kids left for college. Nothing fancy is allowed. Just plain ol home cooked meal that we used to be able to make for the family, but don't anymore since it would be too much food.

Mrs. C1 and i enjoyed lunch at Buckhead Mountain Grill in Bellevue, KY. Enjoyed 2 side caesar salads, chicken quesadillas, and a couple bloody marys. $32 before tip!

In our line of work Tuesdays are most peoples Saturdays... :lol2: CHEERS

Beahle Street last night. If you like garlic you will love this place. Very crowded yet service was good. Ordered a vodka up with a twist. It came with an olive in the bottom and a lime on the side??? When she told me she dropped the olive in just in case I politely told her it was OK, but explained what a twist was. As I wrapped up my first drink, the lovely little lady gave me another without the olive or the lime and it had lemon (slice not the rind). She says, "This one is one the house and its the way you like it" Very nice of her. Had the BST (bacon spinach and tomato)and wife had a salad. App was portabella and that is where the garlic came in strong.

Had a great dinner at Casa Fiesta Mexican Grill in Richmond last Sunday. Nice restaurant and reasonable prices. My portion was actually more than I could eat.

Had my mom stay with me for a few days. She never eats out as only one restaurant where she lives. So she likes to eat out when she comes down. Sunday we got captain D's to go. Shrimp fish okra and loaded baked potato. For supper we had fresh tomatoes out of my garden and cottage cheese. Monday ate lunch at Jade Garden. Chineese buffet. She ate lots of shrimp her favorite. Supper was BLT's. About 1 /2 lb bacon for each sandwich. I pile on the bacon. Tuesday we met my aunt in Lexington and ate at Raffertys. Chicken and fruit salads. Very good. For supper homemade salsa and nachoes. Yesterday for lunch we ate at the Blue Isle here in Winchester. I had catfish.greens and fries. Mom had fried shrimp Cole slaw and baked potato. I swear those had to be the biggest shrimp I have seen. They were awesome. They have great food and Sunday a buffet. Home made pies their famous fried chicken. Be prepared to wait as on Sunday this place is packed. Mom went home yesterday so I just fixed a pizza for supper. Today kale soup. It was very good. Lots of kale in my garden so trying new ways to fix it.

Ok...you made me hungry.:hungry:

Webb's BBQ is open in Newport every Friday. Personally I liked it better than Eli's in Cincinnati.

Give it a shot you won't be disappointed.

Went to Lexington last night to celebrate my oldests birthday. Ate at Ted's Montana grill in some high end area across from the Mall. Waiter upsold all of us to some form of Bison which was their specialty. Everyone loved the meal. $15.00 burgers but they were good. Only issue came is when it was time to check out. My card was declined. Told them to run it again. declined again. They said they even rebooted the machine. I give them another card and immediately call the credit card company regarding my first card. They come back 10 minutes later and tell me the second card is declined. In the meantime my credit card company tells me they have not declined any purchases on my card. Talk to the manager and she calls my credit card company. After chatting with them, they put me on the line for verification. Give the phone back to the manager and I hear her say, "well we have been running off line all day and this is the first card we had declined" She finally decides she can run the card manually using one of those old hand slide machines. Didn't know how to do it since she has only been a manager for 3 months. She was gong to call it in to corporate and have them run it later. I finally get the notification on my phone that the charge went through abut an hour later.
