I think you saw the two best teams to ever come out of EKY play this weekend.

 

I was wondering where you and Watusi put this Belfry squad in the Pirate Pantheon.

However I believe those two teams could play ten times with a similar outcome. Or one could replace FS with any other team in 4A with the same result.

They'd burn you at the stake in Pikeville for such heresy! The '87 Panthers are GOAT, or so I've been told... over and over and over.

Congrats to JC on the resounding victory. This was a complete demolition from start to finish.

I am also shocked. Congratulations to Johnson Central. I knew they were good and had a chance to win, but I never saw this coming. They are huge!!! The speed shocked me as much as anything, I thought they were supposed to be slow! Well not this year.

 

It hurt losing our biggest lineman early, and FS made mistakes tonight they really hadn't made all year, but that was mostly Johnson Central's doing. Line play had been our biggest strength, but we were overmatched in this one.

 

At least FS lost to a first time champ who has had to go through some adversity to get here, and seems like they did it the right way. Hats off to JC!

 

Been a fun season for FS. Nothing to hang your heads about, sometimes you just run into somebody who is better. A lot of programs would love to have just made it to their 8th state title game. Thanks to all the Wildcats who have fought so hard all year and brought a lot of enjoyment to old folks like me.

Seriously that was a great Pikeville team but they would want nothing to do with Offensive and Defensive lines of these Belfry and JC teams

How great would a Belfry/JC rematch in the finals have been? I know, they're in different classes and on the same side of the state, but, wow, that would have been an epic title game.. I think JC may have taken them the 2nd time around. Either way, would have been a war.
