Congrats to Beechwood

 

Is this the start of another strong run in Fort Mitchell? By all accounts, the Tigers are loaded in their freshman and sophomore classes.

 

Their sophomore class is very good.

At the beginning of this game I thought we were definately out manned. Our small Tiger team played very a disciplined and consistent game. Excellent job by the Beechwood coaching staff!

 

It was a great game by two great teams.

Well...it looks like those "Little Beechies" held up just fine against that vaunted Hazard running game. Smith had 120 yds on 29 carries. Where is Buebird_96?

What was the deal on that kickoff that hazard recovered? I know they said they weren't ready but didn't the whistle blow? It sounded like it from the feed. I may of missed the talk about it in the update thread. I know they backed them up in all.

 

I was sitting on 50, so had a clear view. White hat had not whistled ball ready for play. As soon as Bulldogs scattered from their scrum huddle toward ball, he blew his whistle to stop action and advanced forward waving arms, no play. Never in doubt before any recovery took place. Correct call.

Beechwood recovered the onside kick anyways, not sure what people were watching. A Beechwood player clearly had the ball.

Candidly, I thought it was a valiant defensive effort against a major smashmouth opponent. Hazard was the real vintage ground and pound team.

Been trying to foward the replay back to watch it to see. To excellent teams left it all out there.

If Hazard would have used the passing game at all in the 1st half the outcome may have been different. I'm not bashing any coaches.

 

Two evenly matched teams playing their hearts out and leaving it all on the field. That's what state title games are all about. Congrats to both teams for their fine seasons.

Concur. Refs never appeared to think Hazard recovered. I could not see the recovery live.
