The whole hold back thing is a joke my sone is 10 in the 5th grade going against some kids who are almost 12 years old huge disadvantage.

I agree the kid should play sports from birthday I don't care what grade you are in. Parents way of giving their kid an advantage early on. They all use the academically my child was behind. If you kid is dumb they should spend the time making the grades and catching up. not holding back to be a star for awhile. Delusional parents living their dream thru the kid.

Conner traveled to Florence tonight to take on Ockerman. 6th grade Conner won in a tight game throughout. 7th grade OMS continued their winning ways tonight, winning by double digits over Conner. 7th grade OMS was led by Cole Shumate and Donovan Robinson. 8th grade Conner won in a very close game. Ockerman lead for most of the game but couldn't hold on. Ethan Ginn hit HUGE free throws for Conner, 8-8 down the stretch. Gabe Workman, Riley Osterbur and Spencer Couzins played well also. Parker Fields led OMS with a game high 17 points.

Big change for the 6th and 8th grades from the earlier game. I saw that one and both Conner teams started the game going up about 18-2. Press was a problem for OMS if I recall.

Clyde great memory sir! Big difference between this game and last for 6th and 8th, you are correct. Press wasn't a problem this time, but I don't think either 6th or 8th grade Conner played well either.

Ockerman 8th played well tonight. They played like they wanted the game more than Conner. Big shot of the game came in the first half, Parker Fields about 5-6 ft behind the 3 point line drains it. Conner was down by 12 at one point but hit some big 3's. I believe Gabe Workman had a double double, 14 pts and 10 boards. Ginn had 11 points, perfect from the line in the 4th 6 for 6. CoachTF said it, free throws won this game for Conner. They only missed one in the 4th quarter.

 

Nice win for the Colts. They finish out the season at home on Tuesday vs Gray. Then travel to St. Pius, Grant Co, and end the season at Gray. I do know this group plans on attending KBA for the 8th grade state tournament in February.

Highlands 7th edged a tough Turkey Foot team tonight. 7th grade 9th region tourney should be a competitive one

There are only 2 Catholic private schools in the league. It's far more competitive than the other options other private schools have. So it's a really good thing for pius basketball and also for the league
