Woodland got them first game of year by a few points-

Beechwood swept all 3 league games against Ludlow this morning. The 6th and 8th grade games were blow outs. The 7th grade game was a lot closer.

Conner 7th won an OT game vs Walton today in Hebron. Very fun game to watch and the student section for Conner was very involved...especially when Walton was shooting free throws.

 

Conner 8th won 53-29. Walton has a good team but they shot terrible from the 3 point line today...in my opinion they took way to many 3's, some from 3-4 ft behind the line.

 

No games for Conner next week, they are back in action the week of the 19th.

Ockerman traveled to IHM tonight. Sixth grade Ockerman won easily, seventh grade Ockerman also won easily, led by Cole Shumate and Donovan Robinson with 12 points each. 8th grade game was a good game, with IHM winning 58-47. Wyatt Vieth led IHM with 19 points, followed by Corey Shea with 14 and Jude Bessler with 11. Parker Fields scored a game-high 31 points for Ockerman, while Graves Fryman added 11 points.

Ockerman 8th grade wins tonight at Gray 40-36. Good game, back and forth with a very large crowd and great atmosphere. Parker Fields led Ockerman with 19 points, while Tyler Bush led Gray with 14 points.

I've been to a few Campbell Co. Middle School games this year. I have a hard time figuring out what they are doing in Alexandria? They have a 6th grader #30 who is one of the best players in the state of Ky for his grade. Plays on one of the best aau teams in the state and regionally. The few times I have seen him play school ball he doesn't start or have anything run for him to score. He could probably score 30pts a game if given the opportunity. It really blows my mind!! It's a shame because the kid can really play!

They also have an 8th grader kind of in the same situation. A very good player that plays on a high level and they are doing the same crap to him.. Campbell Co. better get their heads out of their a$$ or they are going to lose two really good kids. It seems like this stuff happens out there a lot. I can name numerous kids that have left CC before high school started because of this kind of political garbage. I don't have a dog in the fight but just observations I have seen over the years.. Crazy!!

@raiderbird, I agree with you on your obersvarions about CC- I'm hearing about this same problem at several public schools at the middle school level, not exactly sure what is going on but it's the very reason why kids are leaning towards not playing school ball..

Playing devils advocate, maybe it's an attitude, all about me situation. I am sure the coach has a reason. Sometimes it's a life lesson, which is more important than winning a 6th grade basketball game.

I have known both of the kids for years and it has nothing to do with it.

It's two coaches not one coach. It seems to be a pattern over years..I think it is more of an administration philosophy. To each his own but your going to lose kids that could really make a difference down the line.

Hamilton is a stud at the 6 grade level. I hope decides to play for SK like his dad did.
